mackenzie might as well be my favorite girl character. she’s so well written and she honestly sounds like someone i’d love to befriend in real life. i love how even though she knows how different she is, she doesn’t revel nor take pride in it, she wants a taste of normal but she also knows her responsibility. she’s been through so much and things that she never deserved happened to her. she’s powerful and she stays true to herself. she’s so realistic in how she doesn’t know what she’s doing until or after it happens, she acknowledges her mistakes but is smart to go around telling people about it. i love mackenzie bishop and she deserves her happy ending. plus the part where wesley did her makeup is super cute, theyre truly one of the few m/f couples i’d die for. a bit sad over the lack of lindsey, but the court almost makes up for it. this book changed my life and i seriously need more. good job again, victoria

GAH. WESLEY AYERS IS EVERYTHING.

The Unbound was even better than The Archived and I am HERE FOR IT. Mackenzie’s struggles post-trauma are handled really well and I loved seeing her relationship with her parents develop. Roland is still one of my favorite characters, that good old librarian uncle I didn’t know I needed in my life. Mackenzie’s group of friends at her new school were all wonderful, and I really feel like I got to know them, which was strange because they only just got introduced. 

And Wesley. God, I love Wesley. He’s such a sweet boy™️ and I wish he was my friend in real life. 

The plot of this book was even better than the first, too. It actually managed to surprise me at some points, and I was on the edge of my seat whenever Mackenzie did something risky. Owen’s ominous presence throughout the whole book was grinding on my nerves, too. Plus, everything wrapped up so nicely. I was smiling like an idiot by the last page. Overall, reading this was just a really satisfying and enjoyable experience. I 100% recommend this, especially to younger people - particularly middle school/early high school students. If I had read this in middle school I know I would have loved it.

I definitely liked this one more than The Archived. Fast-paced, more angst, and AN ACTUAL ROMANCE. AND I AM HERE FOR IT.

Nicht nur ihre Eltern auch die Verantwortlichen im Archiv machen sich Sorgen umd ihren geistigen Zustand und beobachten sie mit Adleraugen. Doch Mackenzie kann es nicht riskieren, alles zu verlieren und stellt sich ihren Ängsten. Bis plötzlich Menschen verschwinden, die kurz zuvor mit ihr Kontakt hatten...

Anfangs war ich bei diesem zweiten Band etwas skeptisch, weil nicht klar war, in welche Richtung sich die Geschichte entwickeln würde, ob es einen Zusammenhang - außer dem Setting - zum ersten Buch geben oder ob es eine eigenständige Story sein würde. Doch so nach und nach fielen die Puzzleteile zusammen und die Richtung kristallisierte sich heraus.

Zwar erfährt man auch hier nicht viel über den Hintergrund dieser außergewöhnlichen Welt, doch die Figuren und der gut gewebte Spannungsbogen haben mich ein weiteres Mal in den Bann gezogen. 
Eine wirklich gelungene Fortsetzung, die damit leider ihr Ende gefunden hat.

i love this book.the doubts of mac with the archived take me a doubt too. can we trust in something we don't know intire? anyways. i love discovery more about wes and holland. i can't wait to read #2.5 soon.

Let me just say this first, while many books fall victim to Second Book Syndrome, this did not at all. I loved the first book because I loved the idea of dead people on shelves like books and exploring that world with Mac, but in this second book I loved experiencing the human aspect of her life; the highschool, the PTSD, the moving on with her family. And the climax omg, I swear I looked down at my percentage at like 85% when it all started happening and I thought I was going to have a panic attack, there was so much happening and it was so exciting, my heart was racing. Everything was all tied up nice and neatly even with the obvious baiting for another book. Usually I hate this but since it has only been two books I didnt really mind, and seeing as it could go either way (in having another and not) I dont really mind because it was highly enjoyable and I loved it a lot. I love this world and its characters and I would love to dive back in again one day.

The second book of The Archived series was enjoyable. Unfortunately I could only give it 3 stars. It was much to slow for me. The show down in the end was too short and the build up too long. Again I enjoyed Wes very much. I would love a book form his perspective.

oh my god this was so good. this is a way underrated duology which tells a story of life and death, memory and oblivion, love and loss, and i am all in.

An amazing sequel. I'm seriously hoping for another one since the characters are amazing and so enjoyable. There were plot twists, and more than once I just wanted to give Mackenzie a hug. She's such a strong character, and yet inside she's broken. I really enjoyed this, an easy 5 stars.

Deel 1 vond ik geweldig, dus ik moest direct door naar deel 2. Het enige nadeel hierin voor mij, is dat het verhaal dan een beetje in elkaar overloopt. Ik weet niet meer wat er nu precies in deel 1 is gebeurd en wat er in deel 2 is gebeurd. Nu is dat bij dit boek echt niet heel erg. Deel 2 neemt je namelijk direct weer mee in de gebeurtenissen van deel 1. Het is een waardig vervolg, omdat het ook daadwerkelijk voortborduurt op de gebeurtenissen in deel 1. Ik ben nog steeds verliefd op Wes, over bookisch boyfriends gesproken, Chase is een nieuw karakter, maar hij is ook niet verkeerd. Ik denk dat Owen voor velen ook in die categorie zal vallen, maar bij mij zeker niet. Ik hou van badguys, hij is alleen voor mij een beetje té. Geef my guyliner maar. Goed, dit boek legt de focus helemaal niet op liefde en een of andere love-triangle. Het boek heeft de focus op hoe kick ass Mackenzie eigenlijk is. Hoe belangrijk Roland is en wat ze voor elkaar en met elkaar kunnen bereiken. I love it!
