Over the course of their travels together, Anna and the Swallow Man will dodge bombs, tame soldiers, and even, despite their better judgment, make a friend. What a beautiful story.

The writing is lyrical and descriptive, georgeous in a subtle way. And the characters are very well constructed, they're very complex. 

Anna and the Swallow Man is simply a wonderful, somewhat sad and beautiful book.
