Continuing on the theme of being #different and finding other people like you (see Tomboy review of earlier) here is a lovely picture book about a little girl, crying because she's different and the curvy tree that helps her see there are others in the same situation.
This is a VERY mainstream book - where having curly hair and glasses (still a white, blonde haired blue eyed protagonist) makes you "different" and the pictures are true to the "land of stories" theme - disney-fied - so it will tick all the one standard deviation type issues of children. It will not in any way cater for the children who are truly different and alone, so in that it fails. Which is a pity, because what a missed opportunity.
