This was way too short

This was an entertaining enough story, if very short. I was expecting a story from Jeff’s POV and was very pleasantly surprised when it turned out Fallon was the narrator. I really like her character and I hope we get to see a lot more of her in CV instalments to come. The plotline in itself is a bit on the light side, focusing on Fallon and Jeff’s relationship (and why they can’t be together). There is some light investigating going on after the Keenes’ crown is stolen, with Fallon and Jeff trying to retrieve it. What I liked best about Howling for You? Definitely Fallon and the Keene family: I’ve always loved Gabe and Berna (here she is reading Twilight for the 14th time!) and now I’m adding Ben to the list as well. This pack really deserves a series of its own! One of the main problems here is the lack of chemistry between Fallon and Jeff. It was alright but the sparks were far from flying, light years away from Methan! The final love scene felt really meh and terribly unexciting. Jeff doesn’t shine as much here as he does in regular instalments of the series, he doesn’t seem to be the same person at all. I also have to say I was very disappointed by the shortness of the story. It only takes up 60% of the book when the rest is a preview for Some Girls Bite… I turned the page expecting the story to continue but no, that was it… Annoying to say the least! I guess (and hope!) we might be seeing more of Fallon in the main CV series and this short story does help to know her better. Howling for You is a nice enough read but nothing out of this world. For hardcore CV fans only!
