I really enjoyed this story, even if listening to it reconfirmed that I should just avoid all audiobooks with sex scenes because the difference between listening and reading with my eyeballs really affects how well I handle scenes like that. But I digress. I think I liked Martin's story the most. His struggles to separate his desires from his father's bad behavior was really touching. I loved the way it was made clear that he was demisexual, even if the world itself couldn't be used given the time period being portrayed. Always love to see books remind us that these feelings have always existed, even if we didn't necessarily have the language to describe them. From my limited knowledge, I felt like Martin's chronic illness was handled well and I really appreciated what Martin ultimately decided to do with his life and the way that he factored his illness as well as his own desires into it. Martin and Will were just generally adorable together and I loved how snippy and sarcastic the both of them could be. All around a good time and given this is the second random book by Sebastian that I've really enjoyed, I should definitely see about picking up more of her work.
