So, it should be noted, there is no HEA in this book. So if you are going into this thinking this is going to be a dark fantasy ROMANCE, be warned.

The plot was thin and the spice felt... tacked on? It just didn't all flow together. The book felt disjointed from chapter to chapter. The characters felt generic and aren't memorable.

I saw Jack Whitney's TikToks about Dead Moons Rising and decided to give it a try. 

◾️ 3rd person POV 
◾️ Enemies-to-lover
◾️ Darker fantasy romance 
◾️ Royalty
◾️ Forbidden love
◾️ Morally grey characters
◾️ Strong female leads
◾️ Felt more like a prequel to a series than a first book to me.
◾️ Heartbreaking ending

What I didn't like: 
◻️ In the beginning I felt there was a lot of information being thrown at me all at once. It was -at some times- hard to completely comprehend the world and all different beings. 
◻️ The enemies-to-lovers changed fast. It never really felt like Draven & Aydra were real enemies. They seemed very casual with each other from the start. No hate or anger. 
◻️ I know this book was self-published, but still there were a lot of editorial and grammatical issues. I think the writer should hire a proof-reader next time, because a lot of small mistakes could have been taken out. 
◻️ The writing also gets a bit repetitive.

Wow! I am in shock, i feel astonished right now! The ending was so worth everything, Aydra and Draven were really great Mc's and their journey was interesting. The book was a bit too slow for me, and too much fluff. I did enjoy it, and the side character really grabbed my heart, which makes it very fun to read the second book, and after that ending, welll I need book 2!

No words.... I loved this book but I can’t process the end. I don’t know what to do with myself! Surely that can’t be it?!? Heartbroken 😭
