One of the best architecture related essays,it is an antithesis to the actual architecture praxis,getting gradually far from its original train-train. What is even interesting, is the fact that Ruskin is one of the Art Nouveau forerunners, by reading this essay one explores the globality of his thoughts,guaranteeing a better understanding for his whole ideas ! 
To my big surprise, Ruskin is one of the first architects who fought for sustainability, and supported Frampton's paradigm of critical regionalism before it was cool...looking forward getting the stones of Venice !
