Not earth-shattering but a ton of great advice

I'm never sure what to do with books that feel like a collection of blog posts. The endorsement by Seth Godin is appropriate, since it feels similar to his daily blog posts, just in your face and wrapped up in book form. The content itself is great. I personally just don't prefer this type of format since I feel like I can read the whole thing in 20 minutes, will have covered 15 categories, and won't remember any of it.

If you would like to read bite-size chunks of unconventional business advice, this would be a good book to purchase, set on your shelf and read a chapter every morning before starting your workday.

Interessante pela abordagem divertida de algo que as pessoas tomam muito a sério, o trabalho de todos os dias. Por outro lado não traz nada de muito novo, algumas dicas aqui e ali, mas na generalidade é pouco. São aflorados muitos assuntos, e pode ser que o livro até sirva para alertar para uma ou outra área e levar a pessoa a procurar mais informação sobre a mesma. Um livro que se lê rápido, porque apresentado num formato de receitas.

I've been following Jason Fried's work for years and have always enjoyed his writing. This book contains all the general principles Basecamp has written about over the last few years. It's opinionated and different, but regardless of whether you agree or not, it's bound to inspire.

Throughout a neat cascade of topics each reinforcing one another, Fried candidly expanded on his core message that limited resources or constraints for that matter are, in many ways, only blessings to business starters. Most of his content contrasts mainstream views and approaches to managing startups. In conjunction with his daring claims, he touched on validatory examples sourced from his own records of solid success as well as other respectable authorities while keeping it all sharp, concise and conversational. 

Fried may well have gained further credibility had he dived deeper via adding finer breakdowns examining why his approaches work. But that'd deviate from his vastly embraced theme of stripping down to the bare essences - the style/length of his delivery hence justifiably hit a sweet spot.

Overall a strong recommend to anyone longing for a rather unconventional push conducive to better productivity, be it in relation to managing the typical 9-5 cubicle grind or starting a business. 

(Bear in mind also that Fried made this book a highly digestive read I frankly don't see why one can't finish it over a bath. )

Super fast read. Most of the content I've read. Though I think given how fast it is to read it might be good to refresh every year or so. Basically, get some sleep and do the minimum you need to do but do it well.

This book had a lot of hype that I feel was a bit unwarranted. The short form style of writing should be kept to a blog format.

Its one of the easiest books to read through and possibly a very actable one. The book has been boiled down to simple workable steps. Learn to enjoy being small. Because small gives you flexibility. When your company has 10,000 people, you can roll a new change in just a week. Enjoy your flexibility now. That's the greatest power. 

Power to adapt and change is the greatest power of all. Many others things are inscribed in this wonderful book. Definitely a great read.

Gli autori di Rework sono noti in rete, grazie al successo della loro creatura, 37Signal. Il libro vuole essere un concentrato di consigli per chi vuole fare impresa oggi, su Internet e magari nello sviluppo di software, ma non solo.

Chi frequenta il social web da tempo ci troverà soltanto qualche spunto, in un mare di banalità, probabilmente non banali per chi viene da un percorso professionale e ad un business lontano dalla rete. Chi poi è un lettore fedele del blog di 37Signal ci troverà ben poco di nuovo, essendo il libro un meglio di quanto già pubblicato.

Considerando gli autori e il successo del libro, mi aspettavo sinceramente molto di più. Ciò nonostante, il libro si legge velocemente e lascia senza dubbio con qualche spunto da mettere in pratica nella vita professionale quotidiana, per migliorarsi e lavorare meglio. Non è certo da buttare. Ottimo nello sfatare molti luoghi comuni sul mondo del lavoro, offre un punto di vista fresco e originale.
