It took me sometime to write a review (exams and all) and the storyline has somewhat faded from my mind but I remember loving it.

I got really near to the end of this book and then just stopped. I didn't really care about the HEA. Also, if I remember correctly, the sex scenes had very dubious consent. Which was particularly infuriating because the hero implies (view spoiler)[that he was sexually abused during his time on a ship of some kind. (hide spoiler)] You know the drill; the heroine is a virgin, and she's not really comfortable, and she doesn't expressly consent and probably even protests, but the pleasure is just so exquisite, so it's totally okay! She's just being coy or something. I am realllllly not interested in this trend in historical romances, especially when the heroine feels used or wrong afterwards - I can't say how much that was true for this book, because I read it a while ago, but the consent issues definitely lowered my enjoyment of this book.
