Una tarde cualquiera, mientras los hombres hacen la siesta, las mujeres se reonen en el salon y hacen un to. Mientras beben, airean su corazon. Poco a poco, cada una de ellas explica una experiencia vital que les ha marcado para siempre: matrimonios concertados, infidelidades que les han cambiado el futuro y lo m's importante de todo, tener que mantener la virginidad hasta el matrimonio, una cosa que, en los tiempos modernos, a veces no es siempre posible. Bordados es un duro retrato sobre la situacion de la mujer en Oriente Medio y sobre la mejor manera de sobrevivir.

I really liked this book. It is not a book where a lot of things take place, at least not evident things, but it still tells so many important things... The different stories these women tell to eachother are incredible, and they narrate them as if they were nothing rare. Maybe it's only my european culture that makes them so incredible for me, but I genuenly didn't want to stop reading.

Again Marjane Satrapi comes through with a super fun read. After reading Persepolis pretty recently I was really hooked on this author's writing and I just couldn't get over the illustrations. So when I saw this at the library (just after returning Persepolis ahahah) I had to bring it home, especially because I have been loving reading comics when I feel a little too tired of reading and this was super mega short, you can easily read it in a day as I did. 

Overall this was very similar to Persepolis since it is again a memoir and the characters are as usual Marjane Satrapi's family and friends. So if you liked Persepolis you will definitely enjoy this. Plus you can always read this before Persepolis to also understand if you want to read Persepolis since it is a much longer book. I thought this was a much more light read than Persepolis because although Persepolis is quite funny this was basically funny the entire time ahahah. I gave it 3 stars because I didn't think it was anything out of this world but the idea of "Embroideries" was genius ahahah.
