my rating | 3.75 stars "You will make yourself important because that is what this world is about. Those who aren't important don't stay. Those that are can stay no matter what they do. You will learn this. As I have." RTC!!!

This book has content warnings for eating disorders, pedophilia, drug addiction and suicide attempt. This was not as good as the first one. Not a whole lot happened in this book to be honest. It just didn't have the same pull as the first book. I didn't like what was done with Gigi's character in the first half. It's just to 180 from the previous book and it took away what I liked about her in the first book. Bette was still terrible but this book made even more of an effort to make me sympathize with her than the first book yet she doesn't go through any developement. She still villianizes mental health and shows many microaggressions towards Gig yet it never gets challenged. I hate it. Her selfish tendencasies also didn't go away. Everything is about her and everyone's actions are just to annoy her. The only perspective I still liked following was June. I thought her story in this book was very interesting and I liked the discussions it brought up. Overall I did still really enjoy this book for the most part and it was looking to be a four star. However, that ending was so rushed and didn't really make sense. There's also so many unanswered questions left over. It wasn't a good ending at all. So yeah, I was hoping to like this more than I did.
