If I could rate this book zero stars, I would. 
I only finished this book because I was doing a novel study in English class, otherwise I would have thrown it out the window multiple times.

First, there is the fact that it seemed like Eve Silver wrote this book as she went along with no clue where the story was going. It seemed like the plot had no climax and was like a roller coaster that just kept slowly rising and you’re waiting for the drop when suddenly you find yourself already at the bottom with no clue what happened. This shows in the unnecessary friendship drama that really sprung out of nowhere, the lack of actual bad guy fighting and the terrible ending (“cliffhanger”). I also think it’s worth mentioning that this book is self published which was a big “Ooooh” moment for me.

Next, of course, something that happens in many YA novels: unnecessary love. The main character: Miki, expresses her dislike for Jackson nearly every time she thinks of him. He’s rude and detached and shows no emotion towards her, Miki says multiple times that he is a “jerk”, “douche” or mean. She did talk about him positively sometimes! When she referred to his biceps, abs, jawline, hair, etc... 

Finally, as hinted at before, the characters are inconsistent, cheesy and unlovable. The only likeable character dies very early on. Miki consistently makes terrible decisions and gets mad for no reason but doesn’t fail to suddenly change her mind if the plot demands it. Jackson was infuriating as he leads Miki on then pushes her away every couple chapters. He even pulls the classic “I’m too dangerous, you must stay away from me” line. Then there’s the character who’s name I completely forget...shoot. He was the one who was really sad about someone dying who was super sad and depressed one moment then automatically snapped out of it, again, when the plot demanded it. 

To conclude, because I might explode if I think about it anymore, the book was uninspiring and infuriating. The plot went nowhere and had no point, the love was lustful and irritating, as well as the countless character inconsistencies. So ya y’all, don’t make the same mistake I did, don’t choose this for a novel study!!

I received this book and I just couldn't wait to read it. I do have a lot to do this month and a lot of review and was planning on reading it in November but I just couldn't wait anymore so I decided to read it this past weekend.

WOW!! I am so glad I read it because I just absolutely loved it . It didn't take me long to read it because I was hooked from beginning. I found the book very well written and I love the characters. I love that Miki is a strong female character and I do like Jackson even though at some points in the book you just want to hit him.

I loved every minutes of this book but HOLY CLIFFHANGER!!! Now I just MUST get my hands on the next book.

I give this 5 out of 5 stars.
