What should be called a story with a shadow - even after it's finished, the darkness of it stays with you, and the silhouette remains apparent in your mind. After finishing The Lonely Hearts Hotel, I'm not entirely sure whatever to read next. It seems impossible to find something with as much atmosphere, beauty, or the tinkling tin-can rickety-but-enchanting music box quality this novel contains. One of the only modern fairytales.

Took a while to get into, but it was an enjoyable and tragic story with a good ending I didn’t expect. A bit forcefully sexual and graphic but it added to the themes running under the storyline.
