Gripping from start to finish. There will be a movie on this book very soon, I'm sure. Loved it.

Okay, so I think this may be my favorite thriller I have read thus far in my reading journey. The whiplash I got from the book was insane. Pretty much this whole book was insane. Also if I find myself in this situation—which is unlikely because my social anxiety would never—or say in a zombie apocalypse I would want Darby there with me because her survival skills were a 10/10 because again I could never.

This was an intense ride; you are drawn in right from the first page and you are not released until the final page. This could so easily have been a movie rather than a book. What an edge of your seat ride; it’s one of these books that once you put it down you instantly want to pick it back up again to understand what happens next.

Darby on her way to visit her mother who is struggling to stay alive at a hospital in Darby's home state. Unfortunately, this news has come at a terrible time: it's Christmas Eve, and the blizzard of the century is beating down on Darby in her tiny car. With her phone battery depleted and the conditions becoming continuously more treacherous, Darby gets off the exit at a nearby rest stop....and the story really begins. 4 strangers are trapped with Darby at the same spot and while she initially takes comfort in the fact, she isn't alone, a trip out to her car to try to get cell signal changes everything. A small hand becomes visible through the back window of the Astro van belonging to one of these strangers, and it isn't a doll---there is a child locked in an animal kennel. Darby is horrified and realizes that with these dangerous and life-threatening conditions, it is up to her to save the child. But is there anyone she can trust?

With the small cast of characters, there are lots of twists and turns in this one that really do keep you guessing as to where the story is going to go and what will happen next. NO EXIT brings a fresh perspective to a genre rife with domestic noir, unreliable narrators, and off-the-wall twists delivered in the name of trickery. There's something to be said about an edgy, dark and action-packed thriller reminiscent of fear-inducing cinema in a book.

great thriller to put me out of my reading slump. very fast-paced ad engaging. i couldn't put it down. i love the twists, but they were kind of predictable. it wasn't that great; it was an 'ok' book.

I liked the plot and I found the major twists AMAZING. I was thoroughly enjoying it until the last 20% happened. The ending dragged on for me and at one point I just wanted it to be over. Also, some things felt (really) unrealistic, which took away from the fun a little. It's for these 2 reasons that I didn't give the book a higher rating. Still, there were some impressive things that I enjoyed well! And even though I didn't like the POV changing at first, it grew on me and created suspense. Overall, it was an enjoyable read and I wouldn't advise against picking it up!

super gory when it like. really didn’t need to be?? and i wish it was more of a mystery rather than a survival story bc i felt like it dragged so much bc of that choice

The most fun I’ve had reading a thriller in a long time! Every twist and turn had me on my toes. For me, it was great to see a main character approach this situation in a frenzied, chaotic way. It felt more authentic and relatable.

This book is a cat and mouse story and I was invested, but by the end of it the situations kept almost repeating and I couldn’t buy into the characters feelings of almost winning when I knew there were 100 pages left. I found this to read almost like a tv show. The end just dragged for me.

What a slap in the face!! This was action-packed, riveting, I couldn't put it down and I enjoyed the ride so much! This was so different from all the popular thrillers that are legion these days (basically domestic thrillers which I generally find boring and repetitive). I saw that this one has been picked up for a movie adaptation and can't wait to see it because it was amazingly cinematic! (fun thought: will they AGAIN turn the redhead into a black character? Redheads seem cursed in Hollywood so...). They could screw up but seeing the names attached to the project, I think we're pretty safe and it's going to be amazing to watch, provided it's R-rated (coz it was gory, violent, and freaking amazing!!!)

The story is okay but the writing lacks depth. If you're a fan of Paula Hawkins, this might just be a meh. The jokes and description of porn is too weird. Its predictive at points, it starts with same old story of dying mother, regretful daughter, and absent father lol.

This book was such an intense, exhilarating rollercoaster of a read. I loved this book! I read this book in pretty much two sittings and the only reason is because I literally had to stop reading in the middle. I never wanted to put the book down and I just kept turning pages to find out what was going to happen. This book takes place during a blizzard in Colorado at a rest area. The main character, Darby, is on her way to see her mother. She gets stranded at a rest stop, along with four other people, because of the winter storm. While Darby is out trying to get cell phone reception she discovers that there is a child locked up in someone's vehicle...but she doesn't know which stranger is the kidnapper...and more importantly, she doesn't know who she can trust, if anyone. There were a few minor things in the book that I thought were unrealistic or too convenient but I still thoroughly enjoyed the story. This was one of the best thrillers that I have read in a while. There were so many twists and turns that I definitely did not see coming. This book kind of gave me The Cabin at the End of the World vibes at some points and I didn't really enjoy that book, especially not nearly as much as this one. I inhaled this book and highly recommend it, especially if you enjoy reading thrillers. This book caused me to hold my breath throughout points and kept me on the edge of my seat. I went into this book pretty blindly and that is what I would recommend other readers to do as well. I didn't really know what to expect and I loved every second of this intense thriller. I highly recommend it! I read this book from the library but I will be purchasing a copy for my own collection.

When I tell you that this book had hyperventilating, I am not joking. The tension, suspense and craziness of this book is real AF. If this story taught me something is to NOT TRUST ANYONE. Jesus Lord talk about bad luck. I would like to think that in Darby’s place I would’ve done the same thing, but the truth is that in that situation... you don’t know what the heck to do? It was so frustrating every time something went wrong for her. Honestly, I was just so creeped out the whole time I was reading it. Also, let’s talk about how UNKILLABLE that SOB of a villain is. Ugh! I think I will keep thinking about the story for a little while, is the type of stuff that just stays with you. 100% recommended for my spooky and thriller loving amigos.

Don't fear the pros, Darby. The pros know what they're doing, and do it cleanly. Fear the amateurs.
