Now that I have your attention, it would be rude if I didn't tell you a little about my literary feast. So, here is the thing: is it just me, or does anyone else find that adulthood offers no refuge from the unexpected horrors, peculiar lack of physical coordination, and sometimes unexplained nudity, that accompanied childhood and adolescence? Does everybody struggle with the hazards that accompany, say, sitting elegantly on a bar stool; using chopsticks; pretending to understand the bank crisis; pedicures—surely it's plain wrong for a stranger to fondle your feet? Or is it just me? I am proud to say I have a wealth of awkward experiences—from school days to life as an office temp—and here I offer my 18-year-old self (and I hope you too, dear reader) some much needed caution and guidance on how to navigate life's rocky path. Because frankly, where is the manual? The much needed manual to life. Well, fret not, for this is my attempt at one, and let's call it, because it's fun, a Miran-ual. I thank you.

First of all, I am absolutely enamoured with Miranda and her sitcom of the same name. Reading this memoir/life advice book was just like watching her perform again. Even some topics that came up were also played out on telly (ooh, look at me talking all British). I imagine for someone who is not familiar with Miranda's comedic work, her book might come off as strange and all over the place, but for the fans of hers it would be hilarious. I mean, the woman has lengthy conversations with her 18-year-old self and is a treasure trove of stories that involve poop! "Such fun!" She's awkward and clumsy, but also good-spirited and self-deprecating. I found myself nodding knowingly all too many times. Miranda Hart is definitely one of the few celebrities I would love to have a coffee and a conversation with.

I love Miranda Hart and this book was amazing. It was hilarious and really truly made me laugh so much. If you ever get the chance to read this book, do please, because if you don't you are missing out. I hope that I get to read more books like this and that they will bring me as much joy as this book did.

I love Miranda on TV and watch the episodes over and over again. I'd been so looking forward to reading this book but I was so disappointed. I don't think it's because it's a bad book, because it seems that all the things everyone else loved were the things that annoyed me; so probably personal taste.

I just found her writing style (which is exactly her speaking style which I love!) didn't work well and made the book hard to read.

I didn't laugh. And I wanted to. Maybe I should give it another go.

Oh how I relate to Miranda! It had me audibly laughing. As a watcher of the sitcom Miranda I found myself hearing her voice as a read and imagining all the awkwardness play out. Such a good read.
