Anne Carson

Anne Carson is a Canadian poet, essayist, translator, classicist, and professor. Her publishing career began with Eros the Bittersweet: An Essay (1986), which also established Carson’s style of patterning her writings after classical Greek literature. She is a recipient of a Lannan Literary Award in 1996, alongside with other notable awards such as the Pushcart Prize (1997), MacArthur Foundation fellowship (200), the Griffin Poetry Prize (2014), and many more.
