In many ways astonishing - Hilary Mantel simply has the most insane ability to pitch you into the lives and intimacies of her characters. Howeverrrr, I found the book pretty hard to get into (maybe I just don’t know enough about the history) and a humongous cast and a blizzard of names meant that some of the story’s most dramatic passages landed flat for me. Still an ARDENT fan though.
