I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review. Oh, Amelia. How you surprise me every single time. I can't tell you how much I love the Morelli family, especially Daphne. I had chills the entire time while reading this book. The way that Amelia writes, immediately grabs your attention and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time is unparalleled. I absolutely loved the pace of this book and how much of a slow burn the story was. Emerson is very intriguing. We don’t really know that much about him but what I did gather was that he was cold, distant, obsessive, secretive, he keeps to himself, and is definitely possessive. He also gives off some pretty creepy vibes, which didn’t bother me one bit. As for Daphne, she’s part of the Morelli family but completely different from all of her siblings. Unlike her siblings, Daphne wants to make a name for herself. She definitely doesn’t care about money or being the next big socialite. She was very easy to understand and relate to. The connection and chemistry between these two from the very beginning was entrancing. I’m really excited to see where things go. We’ve been getting slight hints here and there about what might be going on but the way things ended left me speechless and unsure of what’s to come. Being back in the Midnight Dynasty world makes my heart so happy. This series of books and the families in them have become one of my all time favorites. There’s so much to grab ahold of in each of these books and Dark Reign is no different. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dark Reign was an all consuming read for me. From the first chapter I was instantaneously hooked on the way Emerson’s mind works. If you’re someone who is into art or can simply see the beauty behind it you’re going to fall for him so fast. Daphne is a goner from the start, she had no choice but to be pulled into his orbit. Daphne dreams of a life free from her family but at the same time she couldn’t ever live without them. The Morelli family bond shines through in this book from Midnight Dynasty which was heartwarming to see. Outside of that though, as soon as she gets a taste of obsession from Emerson she’s ready to leave it all. Or so she thinks. Emerson and Daphne are a pair that understand each other without words, almost scarily so. She has no idea how deep the want in him goes. His stalker ways terrify and excite her because who wouldn’t want to be the center of attention of a mysteriously, sexy billionaire? One who’s recluse and has chosen you purely from seeing your art. One who can break you down with every look of your brush stroke or glance into your eyes. The tension in this one is THICK and it’s a slow burn, you’ll be on edge at times, but I absolutely devoured every word. I was hanging on every line and interaction between them. That cliff hanger straight up GOT me even though I knew it was coming. Amelia’s vivid writing insnares your imagination and is perfect for this world. I’m feigning to have the next book in my hands. This is a captive to lovers like no other and I need more.
