Morning Glory Milking Farm Cambric Creek: Sweet & Steamy Monster Romance Book 1

C.M. Nascosta2021
Violet is a typical, down-on-her-luck millennial: mid-twenties, over-educated and drowning in debt, on the verge of moving into her parents' basement. When a lifeline appears in the form of a very unconventional job in neighboring Cambric Creek, she has no choice but to grab at it with both hands. Morning Glory Farm offers full-time hours, full benefits, and generous pay with no experience needed . . . there’s only one catch. The clientele is Grade A certified prime beef, with the manly, meaty endowments to match. Hands-on work with minotaurs isn’t something Violet ever considered as a career option, but she’s determined to turn the opportunity into a reversal of fortune. When a stern, deep-voiced client begins to specially request her for his sessions at the farm, maintaining her professionalism and keeping him out of her dreams is easier said than done. Violet is resolved to make a dent in her student loans and afford name-brand orange juice, and a one-sided crush on an out-of-her-league minotaur is not a part of her plan—unless her feelings aren’t so one-sided after all. Morning Glory Farm is a short human/monster romance novel (60k), featuring a high heat slow burn with a lot of heart, and a guaranteed HEA. It is the first book in the Cambric Creek Monster Romance series and can be read as a standalone. CWs are viewable on the author's website.

I don’t think I’m the same person I was when I started this book as I am now that I’m done. This book is good, don’t get me wrong, spice was great and size kink on 10 but I wish I didn’t read it… I wasn’t going to DNF until like 70% because it got so confusing, at least for me. They was great and I liked their banter but the book switched way too many times for me to keep up and I had no idea what some of the words they used meant. Anyway, interesting read for sure, don’t recommend but also recommend?? Idk

To be honest, the title being what it is and my curiosity being worse than a kid being told not to ask questions about anything, I just could not resist. I will not go into details, but I just. COULD. NOT. STOP. READING IT???? I was hooked. I was shooketh by how much I enjoyed it. Enough, that I now, lurk in the author's page and hunt down any new releases.

This book is nothing but “milky” smut (in a good way). I love both female and the male character. I love her best friend too even though we only get to see her for a little bit!

a straight up smut like i was expecting, but what i wasn’t expecting was the magic structure of cambric creek and how interesting the suburb itself was. i might actually read the other books from the universe next time i’m looking for a fantasy smut

I enjoyed this book I had high expectations and was too excited to read this book but it disappoint a little. The story telling was confusing sometimes, more smut than the plot, I wanted to know about the characters more. But to the end it started to get interesting and enjoyable an I was expecting that in the middle. Overall rather interesting book I recommend.

This was an enjoyable read set in a very unique and idyllic town I think we would almost all love to find ourselves living in.

It's a cornerstone for monster romance and very heavy on the interspecies spice.

The writing was a level higher than fan fiction and is very easy to consume.

My only real complaint: I wish the romantic tension went on longer.

Oh. My. God. Ok so I've been a monster fricker- and as we all know the market is lacking some satisfaction. I actually thought this book was just being overhyped and maybe it was just borderline decent at best. I was wrong. *SEVERELY* WRONG. Not only was the storyline, wonderfully, painstakingly slowburn- but the climax was extremely satisfying if you know what I mean aha ha... 😏 No spoilers here but even the ending was satisfying, no loose ends. If anything it was simple, charming and perfectly tied the entire story with a sweet ribbon, just how Rourke likes it.

I would like to announce that I am officially a monster romance girlie. Y'all, I'm not even gonna lie, this was good for what it was. It definitely surprised me with a cute story and not by just being a smutty masterpiece, and I loved the little tie-in to Girls Weekend!

I've never been so embarrassed to have liked a book. I pretended he was human the whole time. The picture at the end is an absolute hate crime. Very sweet romance with a HEA. Would read a sequel.

Content notes: (view spoiler)[Anxiety, death of an elderly relative, diet talk, some ablest and gender essentialist language, alcohol consumption (hide spoiler)] I know I’m late to the party as literally everyone was talking about this last month, but, wow, this book! That cover does not do it justice. I mean, yes, there’s lots of milking of giant monster cocks, but there’s also millennial job angst, a sweet relationship buildup, and lots of coffee. Violet is pretty much your typical millennial: overeducated, underemployed and drowning in student loan debt. And it’s not like living in the city is cheap, either! Just as it seems like her only option is to move back into the loft over her parents’ garage, she finds an ad for a job (with full benefits no less!) as a milking technician for a pharmaceutical company. It seems almost too good to be true, and, well… it turns out that minotaur semen is the key ingredient in erectile dysfunction pills, but harvesting that requires some, um, manual help. It’s not exactly what Violet expected, but it’s a job, and she’s determined to be good at it. For the most part, it’s pretty clinical, but there’s one client that she can’t get out of her head. Violet’s impossible to dislike. Her idea of splurging is buying fresh produce and maybe even non-generic orange juice, and she’s got a great work ethic of doing her best every time. The idea of her She’s also curious and open-minded, fascinated by the other species that call Cambric Creek home. Cambric Creek isn’t entirely utopian, but different species coexist relatively peacefully and humans are the minority, unlike where she grew up and the city she lives in now. When she meets a vampire, for instance, her first thoughts aren’t worries that she’s going to be attacked but excitement that they share the same sort of job. She loves people-watching in the coffee shop, exploring the various foods offered at the grocery store, and, most especially, enthralled by the architecture in the older portion of the town. There’s bits in there that hint at the privilege imbalance (that the non-human food at the store in the city is all on the bottom shelf, culture clashes between different species) but it’s not explored as fully as I would’ve liked. “Violet was certain she was going to perish from terminally unmet sexpectations.” Violet’s mortified by her crush on one of her clients but, at the same time, seeing him is the highlight of her week. She’s completely and adorably awkward about it, especially when she finally runs into him outside work. The buildup is delicious – she doesn’t even know his name for a good chunk of the book! – and their chemistry builds to a boiling point. It’s horny, but very sweet “omg I’m crushing on him!” as well. I mean, I don’t think I’ve ever read a story with a penis described in such loving detail. There’s quite a bit of size and bodily fluid kink (at one point, an experienced Violet considers a 18oz contribution a piddly amount). And, of course, there’s also the A+ dirty talk (apparently buttoned-up minotaurs get wild when they let loose). The power dynamic (in terms of both money and that he’s her client) is handled thoughtfully, as is the discussion of whether or not Violet’s job is sex work. The only con was that the time frames in the chapters shifted back and forth in a confusing way. For instance, the start of a chapter might jump forward a few weeks since the end of the last chapter, but then would jump back and cover what happened in those last few weeks. Overall, this was a great mix of world building, a sweet slow-burn relationship, and some pretty hot kink. Also, apparently the next book in the series will have a mothman hero!!!! Please take my money now.
