Thorns and Forgiveness

Thorns and Forgiveness Twisted Legacy Duet

Coralee June2021
Determined to save my mother from her disastrous marriage, I sold my pride for a second chance with Hamilton Beauregard. Jack was convinced I could mend his family, but my heart refused to forgive. Hamilton broke me. He betrayed me. He made me fall in love with a lie. While trying to figure out my feelings, we all had to navigate my mother's toxic sham of a marriage and Joseph's deteriorating façade. My stepfather was dangerous. Deadly. During a tragic moment of weakness, his evil bloomed to life, and someone died. Hamilton is the only way I'll survive.

*Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review* Rating: 3.5 Stars! bookboyfriendsdoitbetter.com This review is going to be a whole mess and a half. Unfortunately for me, I didn't really enjoy this second part of the duet. Maybe I just need to reread the first book but, I seem to have lost any and all interest I had in Hamilton and Vera. This story is written in the same amazing way that Coralee June writes. Yet, I had absolutely no interest in it. I was actually annoyed at both Vera and Hamilton for most of the book. This is probably just a dud for me on CLJ's books. This isn't going to stop me at all from reading her next releases.

Thorns and Forgiveness is the conclusion to Bastards and Scapegoats (if you haven’t read that, run-don’t walk)! I absolutely love this duet! Book one ended on a crazy reveal and I was so excited to get into this. The one thing we can always be sure of with this rich political clusterfuck is that we never really know what’s going on. It was a wild ride with a lot of angst and resistance and sacrifice and bullshit and I loooooved the way it ended. The characters are all so complicated and I could never guess what was going to happen. Can’t wait to see what’s next from Coralee June!!
