An account of the Finaly Affair, concerning the eight-year struggle (1948-53) to return to their Israeli relatives two Jewish children hidden in France during the Nazi occupation and converted after the war to Catholicism by their French trustee. Kaplan, the former Chief Rabbi of France, was directly involved in the case, succeeding in the return of the children through his negotiations with representatives of the French Catholic Church. Annexe 2 (pp. 69-86) contains excerpts from Rabbi Kaplan's 1977 interview with Pierre Pierrard on his participation at the 1947 Seelisberg meeting for reconciliation and dialogue between Christians and Jews.
