Joker

Joker

"Joker is getting out of the madhouse and, though he's laughing, he's not happy. While away, his fellow rogues have sliced and diced his chunk of the pie and sold it off for scrap-- thinking he was gone for good. But now Joker's back on the street and eager to make Gotham bleed like it's never bled before. During this long night of the soul, he'll cross paths with the likes of The Penguin, Two-Face, Killer Croc, Harley Quinn, The Riddler and, of course, The Batman-- and heaven help them all" -- dust jacket.

The art style wasn't one I really enjoy. The story was alright. I was hoping to actually see Harley Quinn because she is normally with the Joker. And she was but that was not a Harley I recognize and I wouldn't have even known it was her if they hadn't called her by name. So that really took the story down a few notches for me. It was a decent story overall, I liked how they narrated it from some random guy's perspective next to the Joker. I also like that is gives you a glimpse into who the Joker is and why he does what he does. Still was expecting a lot more out of this though, Joker is one of my favorite Batman villains.

This is a take on Joker and Gotham City's underbelly that will leave me scarred for life I think.

Read this on the plane ride to Korea and wow. I loved it. I love these comics that go out of the norm in terms of its storyline. The story is from the perspective of one of the joker's henchmen. I love this idea, because you get to see stuff that you never see. Even if it is somewhat trivial, but seeing joker getting a ride, sitting in a bar, doing all of these menial stuff just felt great. The comic is like a window for a part of the world we never get to see. It is also fun to anticipate how The Joker can turn a normal situation into something insane. So yeah, 5/5, really loved it. Also the art is amazing.

I have read this a few times and it's always a good read. The art isn't my favorite, but the story is well written.

Definitely a lot darker than your typical Batman comic.
