I don't know why I'm so surprised I loved this as much as I did. It was such a great enemies to lovers romance with a bit of forced proximity sprinkled in. I loved the characters from the first page. Hester and Harry have amazing banter and their chemistry was so good. I was totally swept away by all the action, and really enjoyed all the ancient Egyptian influences. Bateman's writing was fun and engaging, and despite this only being a novella, I thought the plot was fully fleshed out and nothing felt lacking. It gave me such The Mummy vibes, and I loved it. I can't wait to pick up more from this author.
