I was expecting something much less... racist and homophobic? Why is it so necessary to refer to a character as black? ‘Oh I hate that big black dude Katie is in love with’, ‘ah my father is fucking a black woman’. Also Dave is actually a moron? And I just couldn’t connect with a stalker who harrass women, lie and manipulate because they simply can’t deal with a no from the girl they like???? Idk...

2015 I loved this graphic novel so much more than the film. I love the way it's been drawn and it's always interesting to see how characters are originally depicted. However, I was surprised it was a lot more graphic than the film since the film was pretty bloody anyway. Nevertheless, I still relished in it. It's good, it's original, I would recommend it to everyone who wants to take a break from Marvel and DC. 2020 I don't think I loved it as much as I once did ^ but I certainly enjoyed it. The blend of the fantasy of Dave wanting to become a real-life superhero against the reality of confronting criminals and delinquents was almost perfect.
