(i might edit this review sometime later bc i am rushing myself into writing this :p) i’ve decided to log this as read bc why not!! i didn’t speedread the book for nothing i read this out of curiosity and i didn’t expect too much bc modern retelling/reimagining stories of jane eyre just… don’t… work. i wished it focused more on jane, but who am i kidding the title suggests otherwise! her arc seemed incomplete. edward came across as TOO goofy that i couldn’t take it seriously (again this comes with the idea that it’s impossible to translate JE into modern sensibilities). the ending felt contrived. for what it’s worth, the confrontation scene is a-ok!

This was heartwarming. I loved seeing Jane’s development and edward was the sweetest even after everything they have both been through
