I almost cried at the end. This series is getting stronger and stronger in my opinion. Everything is crafted so cleverly. I also thnk that this the perfect place to begin reading adult high fantasy as the magic system is not a hard magic system and the world is not over-complicated. De Castell's writing is very accessible and not dense.

Oooo things got heavy in this book. The third book in the Greatcoats series really ramped everything up. The political situation gets even more complicated as Saint's start getting killed off and there are some truly chilling moments. I loved the introduction of more named greatcoats in this book and seeing them all work together - I also love some of the names that get given to some of them (No spoilers). Poor Falcio, I do hope come the next book he gets a chance to rest and relax at some point. My heart won't be able to take it should something awful happen to him xx
