Say You Still Love Me A Novel

K.A. Tucker2019
INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER The bestselling author of The Simple Wild and Keep Her Safe and “master of steamy romance” (Kirkus Reviews) delivers a sizzling novel about an ambitious and high-powered executive who reconnects with her first love: the boy who broke her heart. Life is a mixed bag for Piper Calloway. On the one hand, she’s a twenty-nine-year-old VP at her dad’s multibillion-dollar real estate development firm, and living the high single life with her two best friends in a swanky downtown penthouse. On the other hand, she’s considered a pair of sexy legs in a male-dominated world and constantly has to prove her worth. Plus she’s stuck seeing her narcissistic ex-fiancé—a fellow VP—on the other side of her glass office wall every day. Things get exponentially more complicated for Piper when she runs into Kyle Miller—the handsome new security guard at Calloway Group, and coincidentally the first love of her life. The guy she hasn’t seen or heard from since they were summer camp counselors together. The guy from the wrong side of the tracks. The guy who apparently doesn’t even remember her name. Piper may be a high-powered businesswoman now, but she soon realizes that her schoolgirl crush is still alive and strong, and crippling her concentration. What’s more, despite Kyle’s distant attitude, she’s convinced their reunion isn’t at all coincidental, and that his feelings for her still run deep. And she’s determined to make him admit to them, no matter the consequences.

It's a case of "it's not the book, it's me". I enjoyed the camp setting and the corporate setting, but the romance was a bit too much, I guess I just prefer contemporaries to romance. I liked the characters, it was refreshing to have a corporate VP female lead, and I liked the various relationships. However, the foucs on romance didn't really work for me. I'm a sucker for romance fanfic but might just not love romance books. I'm still going to try some light romance ones though, I'm still really excited for The Simple Wild.

would recommend this for YA! I thought it was cute, loved how strong the main character was when she grew up and thought the guy was cute even though it could be considered borderline creepy, i liked that he was obsessed with her

Because, even after all these years, with college and boyfriends, and my career and my engagement to David, Kyle Miller has always been a sliver in my heart, a shadow in my thoughts. A lingering “what if” that I have never been able to truly shake. Piper comes from a wealthy family. But her mom wants her to see how it is to work for something, and so she sends her to Camp Wawa for a summer to be a counselor. Piper doesn't want to be there at all, but she meets Ashley, someone who becomes a close friend; Eric, a foolish yet fun guy; Kyle, the guy who turned out to be her first love. It's a summer filled with jumping off cliffs, games of two truths and a lie, eating fun dips, bets, breaking the rules, golf carts, etc. It's all about having fun with this group and getting into crazy shenanigans. Unfortunately, an accident happens and this group of counselors gets kicked out. With it, comes promises of staying in touch, but Kyle Miller never kept those promises. It can't possibly be him. It can't be the boy who broke my heart. Years later, Piper is being groomed to take over her father's company. And obviously, there's a mysoginist employee who believes the company shouldn't be run by a woman, and I love how Piper is always one upping him and putting him in his place. There's also David, the ex, who believes the world revolves around him. I have to point out how much I enjoyed David. I was so sure I'd hate him but he grew on me. He stood by Piper many times, and gave her lots of harmless banter that I was loving. In his own way, he still had feelings for Piper and wanted to get back together, and Piper would always point him to the door. “Go forth and find thee thy perfect doormat.” When Kyle comes in the picture again, he "forgets" Piper and she's just livid about it. I loved seeing Kyle and Piper come to terms to where they are now. Sure, Kyle still thinks that Piper shouldn't date him because of how he doesn't come from money. Piper being Piper, doesn't listen and it's so sweet seeing them reconnect! It’s kismet that we’ve crossed paths. Kismet that we can’t seem to stay away from each other. The universe wants us to pick up where we left off, to erase the damage inflicted upon our young hearts. The major highlights for me in this book are: The flashbacks to 2006 Camp Wawa: It got me so nostalgic! KA Tucker wrote this story in a way I dove in and submerged myself in this story. I pictured everything so vividly in my head and I felt like I was one of the counselors at Camp Wawa! It was beyond fun to read about these memories and made me want to go back to camp and also be foolish. The friendships: I loved every single friendship here but my fave one had to be Eric's and Ashley's, or Freckles, which is the nickname he gave her. Those two were cute and so much fun to read about! But Eric's character takes the cake! He's so foolishly hilarious, kinda reckless, but I had the most fun with him! The romance in 2006 Camp Wawa: Even though Kyle and Piper reconnect years later, I felt most of their connection back when they were at camp. Reading about it reminded me of a cute YA story and I was so giddy! I was possibly grinning the entire time I was reading their time at camp! I can still see the boy I was crazy about from the moment I first saw him, waiting at the bottom for me, taunting me. Overall, Say You Still Love Me is a nostalgic second-chance romance of summer love, memories and fun camp happenings that will make you want to go back to camp with Piper, Kyle, Eric and Ashley!

I ended up enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would. At the beginning of this I was really enjoying the 'past' chapters but the 'present' chapters started out really boring to me. Throughout the whole book there was far too much business type talk for me. I really liked the past when they were at summer camp and having the summer of their lives. It was a really fun and carefree time for them! Overall I did like this quite a bit. There were a few things I had issues with and some tropes that aren't my favorite such as poor vs. rich and the overbearing father meddling in the daughter's life for her own good. That's just my personal preference though, I think this could be even more enjoyable for others though! 4/5 stars. Thank you to Netgalley and Atria Books for letting me have an advanced copy of this book.

“I’m not that much older than you guys. I remember what it was like to be young and in love. You can’t think of anything else. Nothing else matters. It’s all-consuming.” She smiles sadly. “And it feels like a part of you dies when you’ve lost it, a part you’ll never get back. But you will.” I really love a good summer romance read. I think K.A. Tucker did a really good job of creating a realistic image of what young love feels like. It’s illogical and make your feel like it’s taken over your entire world. That was evident in the relationship between Kyle and Piper. I REALLY loved how confident Piper was, she would 100% be Kelly Kapoor’s idol. I loved how the topic of how some men can’t handle a strong, successfully woman was a part of this story. It was authentic and fit into the story well. I sadly couldn’t get past many of the topics addressed, especially in the third act. But I do love the message that a real love can endure. 2/5⭐️

At first, I was bored and disinterested. Summer camp and toxic corporate American are two setting I don’t typically enjoy, however; as the story is revealed, you grow to have a bond with the characters. There are secrets revealed throughout to keep things interesting.

Dual timelines are one of my favorite story dynamics. I love hopping between time periods and settings, learning the backstories and motivations of characters, and when there's also an element of mystery and suspense, it's *chef's kiss*. And in Say You Still Love Me, it was just beautifully done.⁣ ⁣ We bounce back and forth between Piper's present life as a high power VP in her father's successful real estate development firm, living in a fancy penthouse with her two best friends, and once we meet Kyle, the new building security guard at her job, her time as a camp counselor back in the day... where she first met Kyle, fell in love, and had the summer of her life. But present Kyle doesn't seem to remember her...⁣ ⁣ This story was stunning. It had everything I love in a contemporary romance and so much more - it was heartfelt, nostalgic, cozy, and romantic, and also heartbreaking and tragic, but filled with so much love and hope. The summer camp, high school vibes brought back all the wistful memories and Piper's corporate life was so relatable. The story of her and Kyle, while not perfect by any means, is everything. I think this is another that will likely make my top 10 of the year.⁣ ⁣ • Read This If You Like •⁣⁣ — dual timelines⁣ — summer camp vibes⁣ — corporate/office life⁣ — societal class differences⁣ — second chance & forbidden romance⁣ — high school memories⁣ — feeling nostalgic⁣ — intense chemistry⁣ — overcoming life's hardships & stereotypes⁣

*1.5 ⭐️ At first I was really loving this book for its potential, but the further along it went, that potential was squashed. Piper Calloway was sixteen when she first fell in love. Sent to work at a summer camp, she was immediately attracted to the bad boy, Kyle. When things ended in disaster Kyle never returned her messages. Now thirteen years later Piper and recently broken up with her fiancé, Kyle stumbles back into her life as the security guard for the building she works in. A rush of feelings flood back and now she must decide whether to give Kyle another chance. This book is told in present day as well as flashbacks. I’m not actually someone that minds flashbacks, but when I prefer them to the present day, that’s when I have a problem. Instead of the flashbacks helping the story it was like the present day moved so slowly just so the flashbacks could happen. I looked forward to getting to the flashbacks as they were so fun and summery whereas the rest of the book was frankly very dull. I think if the modern day plot was cut out and it was just the flashbacks with extra meat, it could’ve been a solid YA romance. Which is not what you want to hear when it’s an adult romance. That’s why this book is 1.5 stars for me. Another thing that made me prefer the flashbacks to the present were the characters. Piper always felt a little bland to me, but I do admire her for really going after what she wants. In the flashbacks she’s very upfront with her attraction towards Kyle. She still has some of that in the present day but something about her character felt like it was missing. Summer camp Kyle was everything. Yes he’s a pretty typical bad boy character in some ways but he’s not a criminal and really respects Piper. He’s full of boyish charm that you can’t help but fall for. It seems he’s gotten boring the more he got older, he lost his spark and is just rude with no reason. The chemistry between Piper and Kyle when they were at summer camp was perfection. Yes they were both horny teenagers, but that’s what made it believable. It seemed like a girl’s first whirlwind romance with the bad boy and that’s what made it so great. Present day Piper and Kyle had zero chemistry. They were two cardboard cutouts reminiscing about good old times. There was no basis to their attraction. It was all nostalgia and nothing about how they felt in the now. I can see why some people find the fact that most of the sex scenes in the book are between Piper and Kyle as minors to be not the best. I’m seventeen, Kyle’s age in the flashbacks, so I guess I can’t really comment from an adult’s perspective. But from what other people were saying about the scenes, they weren’t actually very explicit at all in my opinion. If things were talked about it was very quickly glossed over and a lot of it was fade to black. Just wondering why some people are talking about this when books like Nevernight by Jay Kristoff are for adult audiences yet contain underage sex? As a romance novel, this was way too long. It didn’t even have enough substance to be this long. A fourteen hour audiobook is just a lot for a romance I liked only half the time. For those of you that have read it what did you think of the ‘twist’? It seemed like it was there just to make the ending more exciting. There was something about that certain character that was set up that never came to fruition and that really annoyed me. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone really. Now I’m just craving teen summer camp romances.

KA Tucker has release a new book today, Say You Still Love Me. Say You Still Love Me will bring back two former childhood lover together again. Piper has always done what was expected of her that it comes no surprise that she will be taking over her father company. That's a lot of pressure of her to handle but she is determine to do so. I admire her determination but I also worry for her because she needs to relax a little. She always done what was expected of her which is a lot but she did it anyway. I know she needs to chill especially when she see her first love again. It definitely throws her through the loop but it also reminded her that how happy she was when she was with him. She wants more but first she needs to know why he is trying to avoid her especially when they love each other so much. Kyle may be mysterious in the beginning but he is still hiding from Piper. There is so much to say to her that he does not know what or how to. He needs to man up a bit and express his feelings. But he won't and it is going to lead to some complications along the way. Piper and Kyle seem to be good for each other. But I wish that they got to express more about their feelings. It seems a little rushed toward the end. I want a little more so the characters can grow as one. Say You Still Love Me is a good romance read for former lovers reuniting again. Three stars.

I am behind the times, this is my first K. A. Tucker but it definitely won’t be my last. I’m not a fan of second chance romances - I get too sad knowing they missed time together because of some silly reason... but this book might just change my mind. I loved the whole plot of this book - the camp setting is awesome and the work environment is great too. I loved the characters and while there were some minor issues throughout, I found myself able to get over them easily. The first chapter was hard to push through but as soon as the camp chapter started I was invested. Loved it and I will be picking up as many K. A. Tucker books as I can from now on!

This was the first K.A. Tucker book I've read, and now I need to read everything because I was hooked right from the start. I loved the relationship between Piper and Kyle, and also really liked the time jumps to when they were teenagers, though I do wish we could've gotten a little snippet from Kyle's point of view. Aside from the romance aspect, the friendships in this were also really solid and enjoyable. Overall, it was a quick, fun read!

Thank you so much to Atria Books and NetGalley for the free copy of this book for my honest review. This was my first K.A. Tucker book and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I'm normally not a huge romance genre girl but the way this book was written kept me interested throughout and I really enjoyed reading it. Synopsis: Piper seemingly has all she could want in life; she's the VP at her father's multibillion-dollar real estate development firm and living with her two best friends from camp that she met sixteen years ago. Piper is trying to prove herself in a male-dominant field, made worse by the fact that her dad is her boss, all while trying to avoid her ex-fiancee every day who works with her. Then the boy she fell head over heels in love with at camp shows back up all these years later, her first love, the guy she hasn't stopped thinking about. Convinced it's not a coincidence that he works in her building, Piper must find out if he still shares the same feelings as her. I loved how this wasn't a typical romance book, it actually had depth and drama to it that made you want to keep reading it. The characters were amazing, especially Piper and Kyle, I could not get enough of those two. Another thing I really enjoyed was the flashbacks to sixteen years ago at camp when Kyle and Piper first met. It added so much to the story and really gave you a background on who they were and their relationship. This is definitely an author that I will be reading more works from!

As always, KA Tucker wrote a book that made me smile, laugh, feel all the feels, and really think. Somehow she manages to write light hearted contemporary romance that also delivers quite an impactful punch. In this novel, she tackles the stigma behind a powerful woman falling in love with someone she loves rather than a man that is there only to "look good." I really loved this take and that she isn't afraid to bring all aspects to the table. The only thing I didn't love about this book, unfortunately, was Kyle. While I did like him, I didn't swoon or love him as much as I have some of her other male leads. This brought the book down some for me. Piper, though, is a kick ass strong woman that managed to be both powerful and kind. I really liked her. KA Tucker does it again. I highly recommend this book and all her others.

I went into this book with low expectations because one of my favorite booktubers didn’t really care for it. Well, I’m shocked. This book has my freaking heart. Say You Still Love Me follows Piper Calloway, a rich girl whose mother makes her go to camp Wawa one summer so that she can basically feel like I normal kid. At camp, she meets Kyle. Kyle. Kyle. Kyle. They hit it off immediately. They get close quite quickly. They also manage to get themselves into plenty of trouble which leads them from getting fired from being counselors at the camp. They lose contact after they leave camp. Piper eventually moves on and thirteen years later is almost running her father’s business. She’s trying to survive a “man’s world”. She tries to make sure they know she’s not going to take their crap. She’s also working hard to gain their respect. She has to deal with an ex fiance` daily, as he works with her. She gets a big surprise when she sees a familiar face working for the building’s security one day. Her teenage love. Her first heartbreak. Kyle. Kyle. Kyle. This book switches back and forth from their time at camp and now. You get to see their love bloom at a young age and you get to see them rekindle their relationship. I really freaking loved this book. I was clutching my heart. I am in love with this book and it’s characters. Although, I will have to say that Eric deserved so much more. I am definitely picking up more books by K.A. Tucker ASAP! She has definitely become one of my favorite romance authors. 5/5 Stars

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads. It takes a special author - and a special book - to make you feel nostalgic for a place you’ve never been and experience you’ve never had. K.A. Tucker was just that author, and Say You Still Love Me was that book. I pretty much suspected I would love this book as soon as I read the blurb. I don't think I realized just how much Piper and Kyle's second chance romance would get to me though. These two worked their way under my skin and into my heart. One of my favorite things about Say You Still Love Me was the format in which it was told. Jumping back and forth between present day and the past can be messy, but it was far from that in this one. I loved how the details of Piper and Kyle first falling in love at Camp Wawa were woven in with their second chance. I can't think of how this book would possibly work any other way. Basically I lived for the bits I would get from both time periods in each chapter. It made me feel as though I really was right there beside them, part of the story. It could probably go without saying, but I absolutely loved the romance in Say You Still Love Me. From the first love at Camp Wawa and the albeit more complicated second chance in present day, I was 1000% in. I couldn't get enough of Piper or Kyle (together or separate!) or the secondary characters, for that matter. While present day Piper and Kyle (understandably) had their issues to work through, Camp Wawa Piper and Kyle just warmed my heart. Is there anything as pure as first love? Say You Still Love Me was an absolutely joy to read. I adored the characters. Piper was especially wonderful. Present day Kyle got a pretty healthy dose of side eye initially, but it wasn't long before he had me swooning all over the place. I never went to summer camp, but somehow while reading this, I felt like I had. The setting and characters were so rich, it was easy to imagine myself right there. I laughed and cried and reminisced on my own first love and some fun summers spent with friends and big time crushes. What a sweet and special read. Hands down one of my favorites of the summer. I received a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Favorite Quotes: But is this what my life has become? Managing fragile male egos all day long? Kyle Miller has always been a sliver in my heart, a shadow in my thoughts. A lingering "what if" that I have never been able to truly shake. I'm going to be madly in love with Piper Calloway for the rest of my life and I only just met her.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.5 STARS **Special Thanks to Atria Books and K.A. Tucker who generously provided an advanced copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.** This was my first KA Tucker book, and I can honestly say that I am now a total fan and she will probably be an auto-buy author for me! Say You Still Love Me is a beautiful story of second chance love. It was the perfect summer read, and I literally could not put it down. Tucker’s writing is phenomenal. It flowed so nicely, and I never got bored or felt that there were any slow parts. [Plot] This story is about Piper and Kyle—teens who meet at summer camp 13 years ago and who lost touch after their whirlwind summer romance, until one day when Kyle gets hired as a security guard in Piper’s building. The story alternates POV between the present and the past almost every chapter. I loved the dual timeline. It treated really nice buildup to the event that forced them apart. I also felt that this gave us a really good idea of who the characters are now and were back then. [Characters] The characters are very well developed. This is definitely a character-driven story, and we get to dive deep into who these characters are as people and the journey that they are on. It was so easy to get invested in the story of Kyle and Piper. Piper—> She is a smart 29-year-old who is being groomed to take over her father's multibillion-dollar real estate development firm. She definitely knows her stuff and is super bold. She can go toe-to-toe with any man in the business. Piper is a character that I connected with immediately. I know that this is why I was completely sucked into the story. One of my favorite moments is when Piper finally stands up to her father. Kyle—> He is a strong and lovable character. I did not connect as much with him while reading, and I think it’s because I liked his teenage character better than his adult character. I was confused what Kyle’s motives were. It was apparent he was back in Piper’s life for a reason. It didn’t take long to see that he was a good guy though and that he has always been there for her in some way or another, even if she couldn’t see it. Side Characters—> Not only are the main characters great, the friends and co-workers were also great as well. The camp friends were unique personalities and reminded me of the show Friends. [The Romance] There were only a few things that I didn’t 100% like in this book. The first being the non-connection I felt to Kyle. The other was that I felt like we needed more chapters set in the present. The romance in the present made me feel that this story ended a bit too soon. I just needed a little bit more from Kyle and Piper talking it out as adults before everything was wrapped. Other than that, the romance was swoony and angsty! Even after all the years apart, Kyle and Piper's feelings for one another still held strong and I was rooting for them to get their second shot at love! This story is about a first love that endures hardships and years of separation. It is the perfect romance novel about second chances. [Overall] This was a highly enjoyable read! It’s a mix of YA and Contemporary Romance and Tucker does this seamlessly. There are so many levels to this book. It is light and funny, but also deep and emotional in some parts. I also really enjoyed the fact that it was steamy but not TOO steamy. I love young love, and this romance was the sweetest. I loved the past setting of this story in a summer camp—it gave me wistful feelings for my own childhood and made me reminisce on my own summer camp days. This book is all about second chances and enduring friendships. Tucker did an amazing job of tackling all the issues facing this couple. It was realistic, and beautiful, with a well deserved HEA. I highly recommend you pick this book up! The writing is fantastic and it is such a sweet romance that you won’t want to miss! [Content] Language: Mild--but not non-existent Steam Level: Moderate--not crude or too detailed Religion: None Violence: Mild

3.5 stars. A good, quick read. I appreciated the love story between Piper and Kyle, especially the way it was built up. There were a few plot points that had me rolling my eyes (David and Reneé, her parents dating), and others that felt fabricated purely to have the typical third act betrayal and reconciliation. Overall a sweet book about first loves and what you do when the one comes into your life again after you lost them.

K.A. Tucker wrote one of my favorite books of 2018, The Simple Wild, so to say I was excited for her next contemporary romance would be an understatement. She knows how to write stories that will appeal to your emotions and heart, which is exactly what happened with Say You Still Love Me. Reading this book was like an emotional roller coaster I never wanted to get off of. If you love second chance romances that will hit you in the face with summer feels and nostalgia, read this book. Second chance romances are my favorite, and Say You Still Love Me hit all the right buttons for me. The main characters met and fell in love at summer camp as teenage counselors, but Kyle never contacted Piper again after that one summer. Thirteen years later, Piper has just received control of her father’s company and she needs to prove to her dad and her employees that she’s the right fit for this multi-million dollar company. Just when things are looking up, her past love shows up as the new security guard at her office building, and feelings resurface. It’s almost as if the decade that passed without each other never happened. The privileged, wealthy girl is still very much in love with the boy from the wrong side of the tracks. I LOVED these Piper and Kyle. You can feel the absolute heartbreak, the longing, the adoration that these two still hold for each other. They might not have gotten on the right foot during their reunion, but over time I couldn’t help but swoon over how clearly the two worship each other. We get some great juxtaposition between alternating chapters of past and present, with the past chapters set in summer camp. We can see Piper and Kyle falling in love for the first time alongside them relearning each other in the present and falling in love all over again. This kind of storytelling reminded me a lot of another 2018 favorite, Love & Other Words by Christina Lauren, so if you liked that book, you’ll probably like this one too. Say You Still Love Me made me feel nostalgic over summer camp and I never even WENT to summer camp. K.A. Tucker made that camp setting come to life in this book, and it’s almost as if it’s another character itself. Which made this the perfect summer read. This is a romance that will hit you in the feels and I can’t recommend it enough!
