Persephone literally made every situation 10X WORSE

Very good book. Persephone was just so annoying throughout

The dynamic between Persephone & Hades continues to be great, but Persephone’s unwillingness to listen to the advice of others is so frustrating in this one! She just keeps compounding her problems until it all comes to a head. Beautiful resolutions to her biggest mistakes though.

3.5

This would be so much better if Persephone just got it together 🫠 girl was annoying and hypocritical. The fact that Helen begged to going her?? Like girl I feel like she was more mean to Helen than nice 😭 please let a touch of malice be better because then I just won’t read a touch of chaos 😭

Whiny and kind of a rip off of FSOG.

3.5 stars

It was so hard to put this book down. It’s such a compulsive read.

I'm going to take the unpopular opinion and say I liked this one more than the first one. I sort of enjoyed seeing all these characters navagate new roles. Persephone struggled with her new fame. Hades "won" the girl but now he has to figure out how to be in a relationship. And Lexa...well I won't spoil that. Was I frustrated with the behaviors of some of these characters? Yes. But it also felt like realistic reactions of people who are overwhelmed and emotionally driven.

Book 2 A good follow up to A Touch Of Darkness. I’m going to say, once again, someone needs a better proofreader. And there was a bit too much of Persephone waffling back and forth with the trust issues. Like every time they got settled whatever conflict, another arose with the same behaviors, same response, same conclusions. Once , even twice, would be enough for growth and learning, but I lost count of the number of times it happened. This all aside, the direction of the story was good and built on the first nicely. A solid series in the making.

Hades and Persephone together are just **chef's kiss**. I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first, because I just enjoy them coming together and being together more. The complex emotions in this book really make you think, though. I genuinely enjoyed the different perspectives on the afterlife, and rules the gods follow, morally gray areas and struggles of both the mortals and the gods. **spoilerish** I wish there hadn't been so much miscommunication as the focus in this book. I know it's important that couples (both mortal and gods) learn their love languages together and certain strengths of each relationship, but it felt like miscommunication after miscommunication and miscommunication... that being said when they do work well together, they are magic. 🤌🤌🤌

Sehr schade.

hopefully the next book will be better

Persephone. Please grow some more brain cells

Not as good as the first one. Kinda dragged on..

This series has so much potential but page after page was a literal train wreck. I only finished this book because I started and didn’t want to DNF halfway. I won’t be reading the rest of the series. This honestly read as a bad fanfic that I would’ve written in 8th grade. It wasn’t really boring but there was just too much going on and piling up so fast, all the plots felt like they should’ve been explored more in depth rather than being solved within a few pages. I also can’t stand Persephone and how she’s portrayed as a rash and hot headed figure. I also cannot stand how much they fuck it’s literally overwhelming. At a certain point I just skipped over the smut because it was repetitive and irrelevant to the plot most of the time. I guess in a way I’m a fault because I excepted a amazing series that delved into a complex retelling of PersephonexHades, but I chose a smut book to fulfil that when I know these books are pretty much only written for p0rn and not for plot. No hate to the author, I’ve heard a lot of great things about this series which is why I picked it up, but to me it just wasn’t it!!

My heart broke with Lexa as I wasn't expecting that.

Amazing! The emotions I felt reading this surprised me so much! I was angry, sad, and happy all at once! Can’t wait to start book #3 !

Oh my gosh, the smut is top tier. A real page turner for that alone. I also just really loved the character growth for Hades and Persephone. I can’t wait to start the next book of the series

I read chapter 1 and what
No thanks.

Persephone’s attitude/character this entire book *throws up*

Repetitive

um 0 stars wtf? my bar is already so low? how are these books getting good ratings? storyline and characters aside... there are spelling, grammar, and formatting errors on every other page. she mixes up the characters' names... she spells her MAIN character's name wrong too? i read this one to see if maybe the second book actually got edited considering its massive popularity. like, did i get a defunct copy? this is literally unreadable. why am i being gaslit, gatekept, girlbossed by a book. i just want readable smut...pls. i am suffering. everyday i stray further from feyre's light.
Highlights

She wasn't sure it was possible: she could already feel him in the bottom of her stomach
Please 🫠

"I love you. Even if the Fates unraveled our destiny, I would find a way back to you," Hades said.
Screaming crying throwing up

The god rose from his throne, illuminated completely by the red light. He looked horrified and deadly and moved toward her with predatory grace.
Smash

There was something relaxing about baking. Maybe she liked it so much because it felt like alchemy, measuring each ingredient to perfection, creating something that would bewitch the senses.
This quote made me think of my best friend 😩

"We cannot all be good, but if we must be bad, it should serve a purpose."
My morally grey ancient man 😌

"Darling, I would burn this world for you."
UGH OKAY ❤️🔥

As he went to close the door behind him, she called out in a cracked voice, "You will regret this!"
"I already do," he said, and there was a note to his voice that sounded like grief.
I get why he did it but at the same time I don't😶 She's a goddess so I'm assuming she can't just die and even if that's her mess and not his... he has no right and it gives Tamlin vibes😐

"I want to know you - all of you, from the inside out."
He offered a small smile and cupped her face, the pad of his thumb brushing her lips.
"Let's start with the inside," he said and their mouths collided, his tongue twined with hers.
It really starts to piss me off that he keeps deflecting Persephone's demands and questions by kissing/f*cking her😶 Can he answer for ONCE?? He is hurt that she doesn't trust him completely but refuses to tell her anything😐 Penelope is better than me because I would be gone after the 2nd time this happened

"Has anyone ever told you're not helpful?"
"No, not really. I mean, I am the Messanger of the Gods and all."
"Weren't you replaced by email?"
okay that was funny haha

"Oh, darling. You don't need to extract an oath. Nothing will keep me from fucking you."
cool cool cool cool cool

"Darling, I would burn this world for you”

"Oh, darling. You don't need to extract an oath. Nothing will keep me fron fucking you
