4.5 ★ “how strange to be the only person to remember such joy and pain. so much of both that fate nailed our souls together. and so much love that the earth shook with it.” No idea what compelled me to pick up this novella today considering I read New Camelot about 10 months ago, but it was the perfect little short story about Merlin & Nimue! You get to see the dynamic between the two and also learn all about their history, in this life and the past life. While New Camelot was rooted in reality and didn’t really have any magical aspect, this one definitely did, given that it’s Merlin. He recalls his first life with Nimue and how it tragically ended. But they finally have their chance to be together now, two soulmates who found their way home to each other🥲 Also never would’ve expected Nimue to be the dominant mistress type, but hey that was a pleasant surprise.
