The Naturals The Naturals #1
Reviews

I was really excited to read this book after seeing it was recommended for people who liked criminal minds and AGGGTM but unfortunately didn’t really hit the mark for me. I found it to be trying too hard to be like Criminal Minds with a weird love triangle plot in between that was so sudden and made no sense to add.
I did like the aspect of breaking down behavioral analysis not just in killers but practicing on normal everyday people, I think that was probably the most fun rather than the moments the romance was brought in. Adding in a SK son into the mix made it pretty exciting and it did well overall in adding doubt to guess who the killer could be.
The writing itself is really simple and maybe too simple sometimes it was a bit hard to really set the scene before it moved on to something else, and I do get it IS a YA book so I try not to judge too hard…

Fun, unique, easy YA read. I really enjoyed the psychology driven story. Will continue the series.

When i saw this i thoyght id like it… but i lovedddd it sm.
the plot twist plot twisted, the whole concept was AMAZINGG the characters AMAZINGG
I just REALLY want the next book now however, im broke 😭
It’s basically a bunch of people who have “powers” but their more just really smart/emotionally intelligent and they are all part of like the fbi and stuff
Its ALOT better then it sounds omgg

Criminal minds but the cast is a bunch of hormonal teenagers /gen
I was honestly disappointed at the lack of magic in the books. Everything felt so… clinical? I’m not entirely sure if it was intentional due to Cassie’s own quirks (profiler stuff) but personally felt that this falls into the category of books that would translate better if it was a different type of medium.
While I do get that since this is the first book, Barnes is still laying the foundation for the characters’ motivations, the found family trope this series is slowly building up to, and other plot points but so far, nothing has really endeared the characters to me — not Cassie, not the love triangle she was thrown into, not any of the other side characters that felt like caricatures of beloved characters from existing media (Spencer Reid, the spitfire asian trope, the boy with the dark secrets that everybody’s scared of, the list goes on).

ok ajah guys tp seru kok HAHAHHA. btw gw #TEAMMICHAEL

A pageturner that got me out of my reading slump. I liked it, but would have loved it if it had a little more depth. MC girlie thinks a lot, but does almost nothing thoughout the whole story.

Truthfully this was a really great book. I didn’t want to put it down (looks like I have to finish the series). I like that it was quick but still kept you engaged.

Ende war surprising, aber ansonsten dacht ich aufgrund der Reviews es wär irgendwie innovativer.

Combining my love for true crime and psychology as well as that special element of The Inheritance Games. I loved this! It was a thriller and a half that I sped through. The clues the psychology behind the motivation of characters was so interesting. I did not see that ending coming and I’m really hoping I don’t have second lead syndrome because I have been burned by Mrs Barnes before #teamgrayson 😭

Definitely one of my favourite books, the plot twists and the clues we get throughout the book makes the book very quick and easy, I loved it, I can’t wait to move onto the rest

I loved these characters, and the first half doing all the worldbuilding was my favorite part! The serial killer definitely felt YAified, and the twist and wrap-up were rushed, but I will be starting book two immediately.

This was such a quick, fun, and entertaining read. All the characters are so compelling, and once the pieces of the mystery started falling into place, I was so invested. Also, this is how you do a love triangle because I like them both and have such conflicting feelings. Love how there are still so many stories left untold, and I'm ready to read the rest of the series :D

I really enjoyed this book! I cannot wait for the rest of the series!!

absolutely amazing

SIMPLY AMAZING. The story is so captivating that I binged it in practically one day. They are all so intelligent and complex. The sexual tension is imaculate. And the plot twist at the end😱

“So take whatever time you need. Figure out how you feel. Figure out if Dean makes you feel the way I do, if he’ll ever let you in, and if you want him to, because the next time my lips touch yours, the next time your hands are buried in my hair—the only person you’re going to be thinking about is me.”
ASDFGHJKL. i'm dean's girlie but michael is pulling me although it's too soon to decide because there are still 3 books waiting to be read and many things could happen and the fact that this isn't a romance story, i honestly didn't expect this to have a romance subplot and added to that was it's a love triangle, so that makes things much more exciting.
i will not rate this yet until i finished the entire series and maybe write a proper review but for now this book was pretty good and engaging for a first book, off to the second, i'm so excited !!

I absolutely loved this book. It is so so good. From the very beginning i was hooked, especially with POVs from the killer. I loved the writing and the romance. The characters are all very likeable. The plot twists aren’t that difficult to figure out, but i still kept guessing different people even towards the end. I had suspicions but not actual ideas, if that makes sense. I never got bored, and honestly the only somewhat critique i have is that i wish it was longer. Also please let there be a relationship with Michael and not Dean.

This was my first book with a little mystery to it and I loved it. Finding out who the killer is was so exciting… literally tapping into the mysteries

criminal minds but make it YA

3.5*

THIS. BOOK. IS. JUST. WKVEJEVW I haven't experienced something like this since reading the 'a good girl's guide to murder' series, would definitely recommend for fans of agggtm series. Good romance subplot, crazy twists, and overall is amazing mystery/thriller vibes

THIS WAS SUCH A FUN READ. I ENJOYED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. Literally finished it in a day coz I couldn’t put it down. The characters, the mystery, the suspense, the plot twist had me so intrigued. I can’t wait to read the other books for this series I’m so confused on who I prefer? Michael or Dean

4.5 stars

3.75 ⭐️ I’ve heard so much about this author’s works and when I heard about this series of hers, I went ahead to try and see the hype, and this was my first time stepping into a murder mystery series that doesn’t incorporate extensive magical realism elements into its world-building so this was surprisingly a fun read! It really delves into the aspects of true crime and it was very fast-paced and engaging. This is definitely a must-read for fans of Criminal Minds and NCIS, but I should point out that the cliché of the character dynamics, found family, and the build up of a potential love triangle were both interesting and annoying at the same time, yet the turns and twists of this story definitely got me hooked! I’m leaning towards a new favorite series of mine.
Highlights

People were people, but for better or worse, most days, they were just puzzles to me. Easy puzzles, hard puzzels, crosswords, mind-benders, sudoku.
