Fall Out Navy SEAL romance
Reviews

I was lucky enough to catch this novella for free on Amazon and I wasted no time reading it... It's the first in a series focused on current and former USA Navy Seals. The hero of “Fall Out” is Drew Castle, a Navy Seal who seems to be getting on auto-pilot. He lives his life like a robot, not getting any satisfaction from the job he's always loved, nor from the one night stands he collects... The explanation probably resides on the fact that he lost on the job his colleague and best friend, Kevin Martin, and he still hears his voice in his head... But his routine is about to be disturbed, when Kevin's little sister, Annie, shows up at his door. They haven't seen each other in a year, since Kevin's funeral, and at that time the sorrow they both felt didn't allow them to conveniently notice each other. But now there is no noticing that Kevin's little sister grew up and is no longer the kid he knew. And as for Annie, she always noticed his brother's friend... Annie received a strange voice mail on her cell phone, supposedly from Kevin, telling her he's alive and needs her help. Annie immediately suspects it's a set up and turns to her brother's best friend to help her find out who's behind the message and if it's just a tasteless prank or something much more dangerous. The thing is, Kevin had a secret that Annie involuntarily discovered and she suspects the message may be related to it. Drew goes into protective mode right away, and he turns to a friend and former Seal to find out what is going on. And, at the same time, fights the growing attraction he feels for Annie (and it doesn't help that he keeps hearing Kevin's voice in his head telling him to stay away from his sister). The attraction is mutual, and Annie sees no problem in giving in to it, with no compromises nor complications. However, these things always have a way to get complicated, don't they... I really liked this novela. It's an interesting beginning to a promising series. Not everything gets solved and we don't get to know who's behind the message, but I'm assuming that story arc will be developed in the next books. But Drew and Annie's story is resolved and I was pleased with their happy ending. I'm going to continue to read the series and I'm hoping to read the next one very soon.
