Now, that competition is spreading across the American political landscape, making Mia a celebrity and giving Ameritocracy a real shot at upending the two-party system in the 2020 election. But tragedy strikes Ameritocracy when one of her leading candidates commits suicide, shaking up the competition and forcing Mia to confront the possibility that her project may be doing more harm than good.
