A Steel Heart

A Steel Heart

Amie Knight2017
Five seconds.A deafening blast. Pain. Silence. That was all it took for an IED to end my life as I knew it. The man I was shattered in a hard wave of sound and debris that rained down on me like death itself. And six months later, after waking up to an inescapable hell, I found myself wishing that death had found me. Until her. Miranda Jacobs swept into my life like a cool breeze on a smoldering day. With her smart mouth and her ridiculous jokes, she brought me back to life one minute at a time. Turned out time wasn't on our side. Five seconds.Screams. Twisted metal. Silence. And I'd lost it all again-only this time, I had no one to blame but myself.

Wow! If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. This book was everything and more. I recently read See Through Heart and already thought that was amazing, but this book got even better. I loved that the characters from See Through Heart made an appearance here and we got to see what they were up to, but back to this story. Miranda and Holden. It starts off with Miranda stalking her hot next door neighbor, of course they eventually meet and she likes him! Holden hasn't had an easy year, stepping on an IED really changed his life more than he ever wanted. Dealing with the trauma and new life he never expected Miranda. She turned his world upside down. A Steel Heart describes their journey. They love so much, but have they gone through too much to be together? Amie Knight wrote this book in a way that made me feel every single emotion and a few chapters had me in tears. I just couldn't get enough. Miranda is so relatable with her love of books and cuddling babies. Holden's story is heartbreaking and all I wanted was for him to get his happily ever after. He didn't think he deserved it, but when you read about all he went through you pray he gets it! Besides the serious parts of the book she knows how to give us funny parts as well. This book was basically an emotional rollercoaster ride I couldn't get enough of. At the end of the book I read that there is another book coming and all I can say is I need it yesterday, haha. This book had me hooked from start to finish and has left me wanting more. I don't want to say too much about it, because how romantic Holden is made me melt, but readers need to be surprised and see what he does. I have a feeling I will be rereading this book in the near future. If you love romance and epic love stories this is a book you need to read! More descriptive review will be posted on thebookdutchesses.wordpress.com very soon!
