John Dee, a Renaissance Venice alchemist, scientist, and philosopher is the confidante of Dyckson, a member of the alien Roc. When Dee is arrested by the de Medicis, Dyckson places him in suspended animation until the year 2099, where he wakes to find humanity on the brink of developing the ultimate weapon.
