LOVED! Family and ancestry wow

Listen to this on audio trust me it’s so good

Strange. Not much action or resolution. But, what can I say? I enjoyed it. Not clear on the “point.” I think I liked various elements enough to enjoy the book but it didn’t add up to a great book. Elements that I enjoyed: 1. Dimple has hardly a single redeeming quality but is somehow likable 2. The emphasis on doing “somersaults off a cliff” after someone you love. Though the idea of doing this for blood relatives only because they are blood relatives did not sit right with me. 3. An array of outcomes for children without a “father” in the household. Though I didn’t get how not nan one had a step parent. 4. Petty, flawed characters. Though they seemed one dimensional. Mostly the mothers but the siblings too. I guess I get why Nikisha is the way she is but a little more behind the scenes would have been nice. 5. Author congratulating herself in the acknowledgments. No caveat there. Loved that. Might move to a three star review. Undecided.
