Dana Isaly2022
You can run, but you can’t hide, Little Doe. Wes is in Greece when he catches a glimpse of wild brown hair in the crowd, sending a thrill down his spine. He’d know those curls anywhere. But she couldn’t be at the wedding of his best friend…right? And yet, there she is, dancing with the bride, her smile as contagious as ever. It doesn’t take long for the spark between them to flare back to life. But Zoë left for a reason, and she’s worked hard all these years to keep it from him. Zoë runs, and Wes chases. His primal instincts kicking into overdrive. This is his second chance, and he isn’t going to let her get away this time. He knows she’s keeping secrets, and he’s determined to hunt them down.

- “I’m pretty sure I’ve loved you since I first saw you dancing around in your yard to Britney Spears, your pigtails bouncing around in your face.” She laughs and wipes at her face. YES

Nope, didn’t like it. Even though it only has 170 or so pages, I couldn’t finish it in one time. It was the most boring smut I’ve ever read. And the part where she, and.. look I’m not into that okay 🥲. But I’m excited for the 3th book!! I can’t wait.

It’s official - I will read anything this woman writes. I loved Games We Play, so I was really excited to read about Wes’s story. My fav thing about this series is that (so far) each book is written in the male mc’s pov and it definitely makes for a different type of reading experience. I am here for it. I liked Games We Play better, but that’s not to say that this one wasn’t good - it was. Jack just has a special place in my heart. Can’t wait for Owen’s story!

This friends-to-lovers story is all kinds of sweet with enough spice to burn you up! We met Wes in Games We Play (you don’t need to read it to understand this book, but I highly recommend it), and I was happy to get his story! Ever since he was young, he’s been friends with Zoë, but one day she just vanished without a word. Fast-forward to Wes’ friend’s marriage, where he sees Zoë again. Their reconnection is absolutely explosive! I want her to fucking suffocate me. I loved how this story brought forward so many feelings. I was smiling, clutching my chest, tearing up, cheering; it induces all kinds of emotions. Zoë is such a strong character for keeping her head held high and moving forward with her dreams despite what she went through when she left Wes behind. And Wes is such a sweetheart for supporting her and being there for her when he finally gets the answers to the secrets he had been hunting. His treatment of Zoë will grip you hard and won’t let go. ”Ruin me for anyone else but you, Wes.” And then there are the hot scenes!!!! Omg, there’s this one scene… Y’all. My mouth just dropped open. I couldn’t even believe what I was reading. 😳 Dana Isaly always writes something I haven’t really read before and I love that! Her writing is always so unique to me. “It’s enough when I say it’s enough,” I tell her, meeting her eyes. “You’ve had enough control. Now, come for me. Let go. Give me what I crave.” I also love how her novellas feel like a full-length novel. There’s so much that happens without it being overwhelming that fits a novella, but at the same time makes you fall in love hard for every character in such a short amount of time. I always look forward to all of her books. Secrets We Hunt is a satisfying, electrifying, explosive novella that will leave you in a lovely mess of emotions and rooting hard for Wes and Zoë.

Simple, but enough going on to keep you interested. You get a bit of back story about the other characters to set up their story in the net book. Definitely curious about Owen and his arranged marriage.

Oh. My. God. This tickled so many of my kinks I CANT 👏🏻🔥 I love Dana Isaly, she is truly one of my favorite authors, even from me just reading two novellas of her (I'm waiting for the series' to be complete before starting them because I'm a baby 🥲). The fire between Zoë and Wes was everything and more. They were childhood best friends for years before Zoë left without a word. They see eachother at their friends wedding years later and Wes is automatically ALL IN. He knew that, no matter how long passed, Zoë was it for him and nothing could change his mind. Zoë was unsure but Wes obviously convinces her and gets her secrets like a sexy little spy;) I'm in love with this group of friends and am dying to read the next books. Yes yes yes yes!

Wow!!!! Ok Dana I see you with all the filth in the world in less than 90 pages!! This story starts off with Wes and his friends on a yacht off the coast of Greece for Jack and Quinlan wedding. While at the reception, Wes spots a beauty from his past, his childhood best friend Zoe. Listen!!!! Dana has mastered the skill of making you care about these characters in the shortest amount of time and pages. This story is perfect for providing an update on Jack and Quinlan, introducing and captivating you in the spicy second chance romance of Wes and Zoe, and dropping little easter eggs about Owen. Hands down the best friend group I've ever read about!

I am in love with this series so much, especially this book. Wes is awesome, and Zöe is my favourite girl so far. The plot line is amazing and I cannot wait for book 3. I know without a shadow of a doubt I’m not going to be able to put that one down either 🥰

I absolutely enjoyed Games We Play, I did love the sneak peak into the group and was super, super curious about the second one in the series. Unfortunately the way the main character was described did not work out for me at all, as I had one of those scruffy-trashy-annoying bounty hunters in mind they show in reality tv all day long, screaming around. I definitely did not enjoy the backstory with his family, I thought it was ... ugh, so much overdone. Really did not do it for me, sadly. Maybe the next one turns out to be more like the first and this was the classic "second book in series"-let-down.

Sexy as hell. I love that this series is in the dude’s POV. “You were mine back then, and you’re mine now. Those years in between don’t exist for us anymore.” Dana Isaly knocked it out of the park AGAIN with this second book in the One Night series. Secrets We Hunt, follows Wes as he is reunited with his childhood best friend that he’s secretly held a candle for. Zoe has been out of his life for nearly ten years when she shows up at Jack and Quinlan’s wedding. For Wes, the hunt is on to rekindle a flame and uncover the secrets to Zoe’s disappearance from his life.
