Science fiction & horror. Part of this book reminded me of Peter Watts Blindsight. There's a mysterious alien ship approaching the solar system. A couple of crews go out to meet it. It ignores them. They manage to get inside. They f*ck around and find out what's going on. And it's not good. There were lots of things that happened that made me make my quizzical face. So much was done so quickly, with so little actual idea of what was going on. I understand the time crunch of having an alien something racing towards the earth, but still... It's written in a breathless, excitable style that I personally didn't care for. YMMV. I keep thinking I'm ready to go back to reading horror again and finding that actually, I'm really not. Oh well.
