The main storyline is impenetrable. An encyclopedic knowledge of all x-peoples ever is mandatory, and even if you had it the art is so dark and nondescript you can barely tell what’s happening. The ancillary supporting works are much better and flesh it out very well. The order of this collection is therefore all wrong and does the readers no favours.
