This book was about nothing... just sex!

The Darkest Touch was a good, quality read by Gena Showalter. I was not as impressed by this book as I was by all the other Lords of the Underworlds books. My favourite character was Torin and I was hoping for so much more, and sadly Gena did not meet my expectations. That not to say that this book wasn't excellent, because it was amazing, I just had higher expectations (probably because Torin was always my favourite). The plot of the story follows smoothly along with the rest of the novels in this series. I had expected Gena to stray from the overall plot a little bit, but she followed it nicely. This book fit well into the series. Keeleycael was not my favourite female counterpart. I found that she was rather boring, despite being built up to be a strong female lead. She was well developed, but I just felt like she didn't fit with Torin. I felt like she would have fit better with a character more like William or Paris instead of Torin. But, she was still incredible! Gena made her fit into the story well. Personally, she just wasn't the type of character I had hoped Torin would be with. Overall, this book was good. I would definitely suggest people read this series! It continues to get better and better with each book. The series is not lacking or slowing down at all! Four out of five stars - due to Keeleycael being a little on the boring side, and not seeming like the perfect fit for Torin (in my eyes).

This review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance The Darkest Craving is the tenth book in the Lords of the Underworld series and you honestly can never go wrong with this author. I am not reading this in order of course because I still have a couple of books before this one I need to read but this was on sale on Amazon and honestly, of late, I have been such a mood reader and I was in such a mood for this goodie here. And Showalter always knows how to deliver a good story. And this book packed a punch at almost 500 pages. But if you have read this series or this book you know with the plot line, it needs that many pages for the story. The Darkest Craving features two people who couldn't be more opposite....Kane and Josephina. Kane is a Lord of the Underworld and carries within him the demon of disaster and has recently for weeks been under torture in some horrific ways even sexually in Hell. But then he is rescued by a fae princess who only asks one thing of him.....kill her. Now Kane has no intention of fulfilling that promise sensing the fear that lives within this woman who calls to him and is a threat to holding the key to destroying his demon. But when she is taken captive by her family and people, Kane will stop at nothing to protect her and bring justice to her after all the torment she has endured. Josephina may be a fae princess, her birth father being the king of the fae.....but her life has been hell. Her step sister is the one that is honored and every time she steps out of line ....she pays a heavy price for it. And now she just wants her torment and torture to end....until Kane has other plans for her. He forced her head to tilt, taking more. Giving more. This time, bad memories were kept at bay. And there was no pain in the action—no pain at all, he realized, not that he would have cared. This woman…she chased the darkness away, showed him pleasure and light. Beauty. The Darkest Craving is a WHOPPER of a read and its a heavy one, I am not going to lie. There are some difficult topics addressed such as rape and torture here so fair warning if those are triggers for you. If they are tread lightly with this one. But if you are familiar with this author's work than you will have an understanding of why and how she implements these difficult issues in her books. But this is one of my favorite characteristics of Gena Showalter's writing is how she portrays these elements and blends it so seamlessly into her stories. The Darkest Craving is a story that starts heavy ....you don't get heavier in a story than the heroine wanting to die. And she is not an easy being to kill either. In fact, it's fairly difficult to do so. But Kane sees something so worthy in her, something no one else ever has. And this is what instills a sense of hope for Josephina having been so tormented all of her life by her own family no less. For the first time in her life, she’d felt alive. She’d had something to look forward to, something worth the hardships she faced. I really found this story to be packed with so much beautiful raw material and this raw material is the romance. These two have NO clue what they are really doing or how a relationship will work. Kane is divided because he is drawn to Josephina and his demon wants her dead. She is the first woman to complete him and give him peace and is the first one he has ever known who could expel the demon from him. But he also has her volatile family to deal with and it might mean having a plan of deceit to save her. Now this isn't your typical man saves the woman (although I have no issues with those plot lines) but both characters have such strengths and work together as a team and taking on the whole fae race is no easy feat. I was really captivated by this story because this pairing just won my heart so quickly especially when we see all that they overcome. You, Tinker Bell, own me. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you. No line I wouldn’t cross. I love you so much I can barely see straight. I’m obsessed with you, addicted to you. I respect you, and I revere you Overall I found The Darkest Craving to be a story a feels, packed with enough kick ass intensity to keep you on edge....and the perfect tones of sensuality to leave you breathless for more. True Delights!!!

Reyes is one of the Lords of the Underworld who opened Pandora's Box, and he became the Lord of Pain. In order to feel any kind of pleasure he must feel pain, so Reyes continually over the years has had to hurt himself. When the Lord of the Underworld are commanded to kill Danika and her family that they kidnapped months ago, Reyes helped Danika and her family escape and now they are on the run. For there is one Lord Aeron, who is unable to stop searching for the women. So Reyes has put him in chains and captivity as Aeron's request so that he wouldn't kill them. Danika having been on the run for months, not seeing her family since they split for one another's safety. When she is found out by a couple of hunters she defends herself and ends up accidently killing one of them not realizing how much she is actually able to do. Through the months she has dreamed of Reyes, thinking of him constantly. She can't seem to forget the touches that set fire to her skin. She is then found by some other hunters that kidnap her thinking that she is the way in to getting hold of the Lords of the Underworld. Reyes when he hears of what has happened, he and the other Lords that aren't out to kill her, goes to help rescue her. They bring her to their fortress, where Danika wants answers to where her family is and if they are still alive. All the while, a sensual connection strengthens between Danika and Reyes with kisses and touches and a desire that only grows stronger the longer they are together. Despite all the danger surrounding them both, their love will conquer! I truly have loved this book, it had such a great sense of love and passion and danger that is perfect with the style of the story and way that the author writes. The love scenes alone were wonderful, and seemed to really connect with the reader. This is the first that I have read of the Lord of the Underworld Series, and I am impressed. I just started getting into Gena Stowalter and I am so glad that I did. She is one of my favorite Paranormal Authors. I simply loved everything about this book, and I have no complaints, and I will have to give it the highest blossom, since it was better than I thought that it would be.

Sabin, is bound by the Demon of Doubt, who is always there whispering to him and everyone else around him doubts about themselves, so Sabin, refuses to let anyone get real close to him especially any women, then he ends up rescuing Gwendolyn, the Timid, a Harpy, although very different from her kind. Gwen, also a immortal, and a harpy, has always tried to hide that part of herself, because when her harpy is free she does unimaginable things, where everyone that surrounds her is dead. After being captured for a year, she is afraid to contact her sisters, whom are harpies but have always been there to protect her, but afraid they will despise her for past mistakes, not realizing how strong their sisterly bond truly is. Then she gets rescued by Sabin, and taken back to his sanctuary and home with his brethren who are just as cursed with demons as he is, and finds a deep and abiding love in Sabin, and that despite everything going on around them, love can conquer all, even the whisperings of doubt! The Darkest Whisper is the fourth in the Lord of the Underworld series, and this is Sabin's story, who holds the Demon of Doubt. Although this series isn't my favorite of this author, its such a exciting and intriguing one, and I have truly loved reading this series so far, its been a intense ride that for sure, and The Darkest Whisper is one of my favorites of the series. Although Maddox's story is at the highest top of favorites, Sabin is probably next in line. I loved every aspect of this story from the exciting plot, to the adventure, to the heated passion, and the tender love that grows between Sabin and Gwen. I found these two to be such a perfect match for one another, and they compliment each other so well. With Gwen able to distinguish the difference between her own thoughts and doubt, and the fact that when her harpy comes out, Doubt hides, since Doubt is afraid of Harpies. And how Sabin is the only one that can calm her harpy when she is out, which no one has been able to do that Gwen remembers. I have found the each book in the series so far is different yet special as they are so unique from one another! A true romance that will have you eager for more and more from this author.

Anya, the Goddess of Anarchy finds herself fascinated with Lucien, whose demon is Death, she first makes her desires of him known at a club. Even though he is scarred she finds him the most handsome and fascinating man that she has ever known. Anya is deeply misunderstood, because her of who her mother was, her mother slept with all whether mated or unmated, it was in her nature. However for Anya that was not in her nature. For sure is cursed and has never lain with a man before, however when she meets Lucien all that changes and she desires him above everything, however Cronus gets in the way. After Lucien shares a passionate embrace with the mysterious Anya, Cronus comes to him and tells him that he wants him to kill Anya. Having the demon of death inside of him, he knows that he really has no choice. But Lucien is reluctant to do so however, with her beauty, sparkling personality, and her strawberry scent that tends to intoxicate him with burning desire, he finds himself wishing that he didn't have the task of having to kill her. When Anya and Lucien work together, will their love be strong enough to conquer all road blocks that stand in their way? I truly loved reading this one, I am reading this series out of order, which I don't mind. The first book that I have read of this series was The Darkest Pleasure so I was exciting to finally read Lucien and Anya's book. I loved how spirited and willful Anya is and how she is willing to fight for her life. There is much tension throughout the whole book, because of the certain circumstances that are involved. With Lucien having to be ordered to kill Anya or everyone that he cares about will perish, well that is definitely a hard choice, but it does get harder when he falls in love with her. It was a thrilling ride through the whole of the book, and I was definitely satisfied at the end. The Darkest Kiss kept me on the edge of my seat, and always full of surprises. Definitely worth reading, and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Olivia was sent as a angel, to keep tabs on Aeron, who holds the demon of Wrath. Then she is sent to kill Aeron, because he keeps a demon from Hell with him, so the council has decided that he must die. But Olivia wants Aeron for her own, so she falls from being a angel, so that she doesn't have to do the deed. So at first when she seeks his help, he resists, even though she is the one tempting thing that has come into his life. However his demond, Wrath, is calmed by Olivia, and only wants her more and more. But things are about to get a bit more dicey with a new executioner on the hunt for Aeron's head, and Olivia is the only one that can protect him from death, but Aeron and Olivia will learn the true power and strength that comes from loving and sacrificing for that one person whom means more than anything to you.The Darkest Passion is the seventh in the Lords of the Underworld series. I found The Darkest Passion to be a emotionally riveting story, that struck deep. Its about Aeron(whom we all love) and I was so thrilled to get a chance to read The Darkest Passion, it definitely didn't disappoint. It was filled with everything that I would expect in a novel such as this from Gena Showalter, full of a magical world, with passion, romance and a spice of danger that will make your heart beat just a bit faster than normal. This author has such great passion and imagination that she portrays her in wonderfully written stories, which travels through the reader, and creates such a compelling world, that only draws you in even more, the more that you read from Showalter.

3.5✨ Es un buen libro? No. La trama flojea y la saga entera es desbaratada en 4 líneas? Si. Lo he leído en menos de 24h y me ha parecido super entretenido? También. Poco más tengo que decir.

A little bit of mystery, a lot of action, death and darkness. A lot of love. A fairytale really. This book was the first one to make me cry after twilight saga and Harry Potter. It was truly a page-turner and I can't wait to read more books in the series. It will be my pleasure to reveal all the secrets those demons and Titans and myths hold.

Ok let me just say... WOW! This book was amazing! It had it all: laughs, tears, love, hate, and everything in between. I cant wait for the next book. In the meantime, ANGELS OF THE DARK series (also by Gena Showalter) is on my to-read list.

Officially my new favorite in the series. I’ve got a soft spot for Reyes and I adore Danika!

I wish she would have went into this story a little further. I know it's meant to just introduce you to the series but still, it could have been a little longer...

I was one of those who loved William and Gillian together and couldn't wait to read them, but Gena did exactly what I didn't expect and that's something I love from her books. So yes, I'm looking forward to Will's story

that was so bad r.i.p the entire week i spent on this

After many attempts to dodge this book my friends finally caught up with me, using blackmail as their weapon. Anyway, know I totally understand why the told me to read it. Because this book was HOT!! Maddox and Ashlyn both had issues that they seemed to be able to control when they were together. Ashyln can hear every conversation that had ever took place where she stood in her head but when she is with Maddox the voices are gone. Maddox on the other hand has the demon of violence living inside of him and when he is with Ashlyn it seems that he had more control over its sudden outbursts of blind rage. The relationships with the characters were sweet and sometimes a bit feral. I feel like Gena Showalter has already set up a possible couple for one of the future books. This book did, at times feel a bit drawn out and long, but all in all it was better than I expected.

It wasn't bad but wasn't great. I may pick up others in the series, but I'm not sure yet. Overall, 3 stars

I was so happy to finally read Fox and Bjorn's story! I have really enjoyed all the books in this series, and all of Gena Showalter's books in general.. Fox is an assassin and the keeper of the demon distrust. We start out the story with her having just killed 10 sent ones ( who are basically angels) but having no real memory of doing it. She is taken home by Galen who is her mentor/ father figure who has taken care of her since she was a child. When Bjorn a Sent One is tasked with the mission of killing Fox because of what she did..I love the banter between the two of them right from the very beginning. Fox is fighting Bjorn completely naked, and that is a super distraction. lol I loved watching their relationship to im gonna kill you, to lust with no trust, all the way to love.. Also I love getting some peaks in to whats going on with Galen and Legion, and Bjorn's friends that we met in other books. And I loved the sneak peak of Williams story... I have been waiting for this FOREVER!! I think after the next book is released, I'm going to be doing a full series reread!

Finally Williams story! I loved the snark and sass of both William and Sunny. They make me laugh out loud constantly.. I think you might not need to necessarily have to read all the other books, but I do think that it would add to your overall experience if you knew the back story.. I really liked learning about Williams history, and finding out he has family other than the Lords of the Underworld. I liked Sunny a whole lot, and don't mind that she was a unicorn shifter. I thought it was hilarious that people aren't able to swear around her.. I don't know if this is the last in the series or not, but I felt like Gena left it off for more to be written. She hinted at a pairing between the Sent One Axel, and Lucifers estranged wife Evelina.. I do hope she writes more..

Gena Showalter is the queen in writing fantastic paranormal romance books. She has always done amazing job in creating addicting storyline that everyone will love to read. And she has done it again with The Darkest Torment. The Darkest Torment is about the fallen warrior, Baden that finally got back together with his warrior brothers. But things are not peachy in the underworld that it is going to be chaotic for everyone especially Baden. Baden is such a sexy warrior that I want him for myself. Besides his sexiness, he is troubled because he is having a hard time in controlling himself that he wants to separate from his warrior brothers. But something unexpected happens when Hades recruit him to the underworld battle that he will be fighting for his life and someone else, Katarina. Katarina is very intelligent women that she spends her life in rescuing animals since she has been drawn to them. But she is finding herself in a tough struggle that she will get involve with the underworld. She will struggle with Baden because she is stubborn women but she will get there with him. They both have an attraction for each other but they both fight it since they have different agenda to achieve. But as you know you can't always fight fire which is Katarina and Baden. The Darkest Torment is another great paranormal romance that you will want your own Baden. Five stars.

Just seemed to go on and on about the same things. Maybe some tighter editing would have made it a bit more interesting to me. Couldn't like the characters.

I loved Lucien and Anya and the tension between them. I was just waiting and waiting for Lucien to finally break! It is a great addition to the series. Lucien is bonded with the Demon of Death and is covered in scars. He sees Anya as beautiful and cannot understand why or if she really is attracted to him. As such, he pushes her away or can be cruel at times as he suspects she is playing with him. And Anya, just could not stay away from Lucien, despite the fact he has been ordered to kill her. She is such a strong heroine and more than holds her own. Overall I really enjoyed it, but because there are so many secondary characters, all being set up for their own book, I felt like i did not really get to spend as much time with the main couple as I would have wanted to. (while at the same time feeling like the previous couple were barely mentioned or used as anything more than background props, as possibly their story had been told, so we can forget about them?) However, I did enjoy them, and will certainly carry on with the series and not leave it so long next time.

★Book Basics★ Genre : - Paranormal Romance Series : - 1st in the series Love triangle? - (view spoiler)[No (hide spoiler)] Cheating? - (view spoiler)[No (hide spoiler)] HEA? - (view spoiler)[Yes (hide spoiler)] Would I read more by this author/or in this series? - Yes Rating - 5 ★Review★ This is a new to me series, and as such, for me (even though this series has been out years) it was a refreshing take on the paranormal genre. I loved both main characters, and the entire world this is based in. At times, it felt a bit too much, like page time was taken away from the main couple , in favour of world/secondary character building, but then this is the first book in a series, and as such is sort of necessary. But, hugely enjoyable, great start to a series, loved the main characters and the rest of the "brothers" and cannot wait to carry the series on.

I have been wanting to start this series for awhile. I really enjoyed this short little introduction into how the Lords of The Underworld will eventually come to be. It packed quite a punch in a short number of pages, and you cared about the hero and heroine. Maybe not a "traditional" HEA all things considered, but I was happy with how it resolved for the couple. It is not necessary to read this before the series, but it gave a nice background to the origins of the Lords, and was enjoyable.

English It was recently the 12th anniversary of this book and I was shocked because I didn't think it was published that long ago, so I started looking for the series again and I can't believe that it is still going on, I thought I had already read all of them hahahaha, so I decided to come and recommend this book and series. This book is the beginning of the series where we are introduced to a group of men who were possessed by the demons/evils of the pandora's box for many years, with that I am already interested, in this book we see the story of Maddox possessed by violence who has a curse that must be fulfilled every night and Ashlyn a woman with paranormal abilities that for her are a disgrace. Her story begins when Maddox thinks she is there to capture them and he obviously kidnaps her and she discovers that he nullifies her powers thus beginning their story. It is insta-love, to start I don’t like that but it is a somewhat old book and I can’t complain because I really like the story that it takes place in the rest of the books, Gena created a great universe and I must say that there is a spin-off of this series so the universe is quite big. Anyway, did I like the relationship? mmm a little bit, I think seeing them throughout the books improves a lot, but what I liked the most about the book was the plot with the demons, it is definitely what I like the most about the series, it has somewhat strong and explicit scenes for Consider if you plan to read it.
