*Read for class. Um, okay. So, I didn't expect to like it that much. Not from the very beginning, no, but eventually I actually started to care about the characters and their lives. I worried and hoped. And the end made me very, very sad. Somehow on a deeper level than On the Eve. I just wish all Turgenev's novels made me feel like that. And I'm glad I actually like his writing now. It's a wonderful feeling when mandatory reading turns out to be interesting and makes you enjoy yourself in the process.
