Isobel/ Elizabeth may be an internationally renowned Violinist but her life is not her own. Her manager/Guardian/Jailer is getting more brazen in his mistreatment of her. She finally plucks up the courage to leave and all goes well. Well, until a tree tries to stop her!

Ewan finds Isobel and quickly realises that she is on the run. The protector in him flares and he takes her home with him. Where better to hide than in the remoteness of the Highlands.

They settle into a comfortable existence but danger just won't stay away and soon Ewan is needed to vanquish the monster hunting Isobel once more!

Isobel is stronger than she thinks. She's willing to throw away life in a gilded cage to work in a pub. Ewan's past in the military has certainly honed his protective instincts. He'll protect anyone he thinks of as "his" and a fair few who are just deserving of protection.

I loved the way Ewan knew more than he let on and let Isobel feel secure in herself and trust him and not just railroad over the top of her. The village as usual just bands together when needed. My fave scene involved Ewan, a kilt, and a sword and shield! My only gripe is that a Scot I've yet to see a kilt in the wild that wasn't a wedding or Graduation LOL
