Letters Written in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark
Letters written during a short residence in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark (1796) is both an arresting travel book and a personal memoir. In it Wollstonecraft describes the sublime landscape and the events and people she encounters. This edition includes reviews, additional letters, and documents on the background to the journey.

The subject matter is interesting but what really stands out is Ms Wollstonecraft's writing! It's so gorgeous and vivid that I can almost forgive her overly-liberal use of the comma and indiscriminate use of the apostrophe. Also not sure who needs to get in the sea first, Gilbert 'commitmentphobe' Imlay, or the ass from the British Critic tasked with reviewing this book back in the day. For shame, 'gentlemen'.
