Anything You Can Do

Anything You Can Do Science Fiction Matster

Like some great silver-pink fish, the ship sang on through the eternal night. There was no impression of swimming; the fish shape had neither fins nor a tail. It was as though it were hovering in wait for a member of some smaller species to swoop suddenly down from nowhere, so that it, in turn, could pounce and kill. But still it moved and sang. Only a being who was thoroughly familiar with the type could have told that this particular fish was dying. In shape, the ship was rather like a narrow flounder—long, tapered, and oval in cross-section—but it showed none of the exterior markings one might expect of either a living thing or a spaceship. With one exception, the smooth silver-pink exterior was featureless. That one exception was a long, purplish-black, roughened discoloration that ran along one side for almost half of the ship's seventeen meters of length. It was the only external sign that the ship was dying. Inside the ship, the Nipe neither knew nor cared about the discoloration. Had he thought about it, he would have deduced the presence of the burn, but it was by far the least of his worries. The ship sang, and the song was a song of death. The internal damage that had been done to the ship was far more serious than the burn on the surface of the hull. It was that internal damage which occupied the thoughts of the Nipe, for it could, quite possibly, kill him.

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads. I can always count on R.S. Grey to deliver a great, swoony, sexy and fun book. This was never more true than with Anything You Can Do. In fact, if I had to pick a favorite of her books, this would be the one. I LOVE the enemies to lovers trope and I've been lucky to read THREE amazing ones in 2017. This was one of them. I was literally laughing out loud with Daisy and Lucas's hijinks, even if it was deliciously over the top at times.. I loved their banter and the way they played off of each other. Their chemistry was believable and the way things progressed between them was damn near perfect. Things got hot and sexy and the angst was on the low side, both of which were much appreciated by me. This is one of those books I will reread many times in the future. It was light and fun and I just can't recommend it highly enough! FAVORITE QUOTES I am the Annie Oakley to his Frank Butler and I firmly believe that anything he can do, I can do better. "You listen here, Lucas Thatcher. I hate you, but you're going to kiss me. You're going to kiss me and you're not going to stop."

Meu primeiro livro lido em inglês!!! Achei a escrita muito leve e boa. Passei raiva com a personagem principal muitas vezes, achei ela bem imatura em algumas situações. De resto gostei.

4.5 stars! Lucas and Daisy have known each other their entire lives. Literally. They were born on the same day, grew up in the houses next to each other, and have had a feud ongoing ever since. The entire town knows of their competitive hatred for each other, and are shocked to find out that Daisy and Lucas, unbeknownst to them, will be working together at the same family doctor's office in their small town. After not seeing each other since high school, having gone to different colleges and avoided each other at all costs, you would think these two would be okay working together as adults. Right? Wrong!! The tension is still there! These two immediately start off pranking each other and trying to one-up the other. It's hilariously funny to see the lengths these two will go to to "win" in their own eyes. I adore the enemies-to-lovers trope, and this was definitely one of my faves! I loved seeing the hatred these two shared for each other turn into all kinds of confusing feelings, making them do the silliest things. And when it starts to heat up, it really does HEAT UP! Holy sparks! "Can you kill someone with a kiss? I think that’s what he’s doing — slaying me with his mouth." If you haven't heard me rave about R.S. Grey yet, you probably don't know me. She's one of my newest favorite authors! I read everything this talented woman puts out, and I love it all!! This is definitely one of my faves of hers, right up there with the Summer Games series. A sexy, tension-filled, fun and funny, addicting read that you won't want to miss!   (Thanks to R.S. Grey for the review copy!) Find this review and others like it at Lost in Literature!
