Tropes; •Taboo Romance •Forbidden Love •Age Gap •Therapist-Patient •Mental Health Awareness This was my first book from Saffron A. Kent and I liked it very much. Especially smut was VERY well written. Plot was thick and characters were realistic. (Not in a relationship way but mental awareness way.) this topic was processed well. I’m not a huge fan of Hero (Simon) but I really love Willow. I LOATHE all of Harry Potter things. It made me sick for real like why?

4.5 this was my first Saffron book, and it definitely won’t be my last 🥹

It’s very hard to get that, especially in real life. Nothing is ever clean. Nothing is ever wiped off. But there’s a thing called moving on.. Actualy after reading this book I decided that I'll be a fighter as well. I really loved how they fought for there love. And they've made it at last despite everything had happend

** spoiler alert ** 4 ⭐️ • Please read trigger warnings • there are many triggers so I’m going to be stating only a few, please do your research. • mental illness (anxiety, depression, anorexia, suicide ideation , etc) , mature language and scenes , loss of parents, graphic sexual scenes. • age gap romance • doctor/patient I enjoyed this, really did. I loved the mental illness representation, I loved that it wasn’t glamourised or romanticised and Willow was aware that the only person who could help her get better was herself. I loved that there was no co-dependency and the whole “you’re the only one who can save me” shtick. Sure Simon made it comfortable for Willow but time and time again Willow realistically acknowledges that love or Simon can’t save her entirely but it sure does make it easier and more comfortable. I liked Simon’s character. He was dark and twisty but still cared so much for those around him. No matter what, he put Willow’s health first and that was nice. I also liked how he manages to acknowledge that he himself has unresolved demons and seeks help for it, makes sure he was ready before finally confronting Willow. What bothered me: - the lack of diversity - Harry Potter references (I’m aware that it’s the comfort of most people (no judgment) but for those who understand the misogyny, racism and transphobia behind the book might be slightly upset, so here’s a warning ; I myself had to wince and power through the occasional references) As a whole, I enjoyed this book and loved that the author managed to highlight mental illnesses in a more realistic and reasonable manner. I took longer than expected but I truly enjoyed this read.
