The Twelve Long, Hard, Topsy-Turvy, Very Messy Days of Christmas
Reviews

I love the James Patterson collaborations! I can’t get enough of them, especially the non-author celebrities, like Dolly Parton and Hillary Clinton. I had no clue who Tad Safran was prior to reading this book…and after reading this book I still have no clue who Tad Safran is. I believe he’s a screenwriter, but that’s based on a single Google search. I was looking forward to this one because I typically enjoy Patterson’s books, and this had the added excitement of being a Christmas book. I was jazzed.
And then I wasn’t. This book is completely obnoxious and over the top. Once the first day occurred, it was obvious the direction this book was going to take, and I almost gave up because I felt it was just too hokey. I was right, it’s got more cheese than the nachos at the JW Marriott’s sports bar (it’s called High Velocity in Indianapolis, those nachos are amazing), and I just wasn’t digging the vibe of this book. At all. I went ahead and gave it three stars because it was just cute enough to be a little bit better than bad. I loved that there was a “moral” of this story with this one, and that’s about all I liked.
I wouldn’t recommend this one, but then I wouldn’t NOT recommend it either. It’s cute, it has a lesson, the end is nicely wrapped up. It’s a feel-good holiday story, but it’s nauseatingly so.

The exact kind of cosy Christmas story I was looking for. It made me want to cuddle up in a blanket and drink hot cocoa

Really enjoyable light hearted Christmas story.
