Snow is written and illustrated by Caldecott winning children’s illustrator Uri Shulevitz. It tells the story in mostly pictures of a town surprised by an expected December snow. Although all the adults predict the snow won’t stick the illustrations show just the opposite. The little flakes of snow slowly but surely pile up turning the colorful town into a winter landscape. The only two in the village who hold any hope for the snow are a boy and his dog. As it is primarily a picture book, early readers will find the book easy to read. My son enjoyed the pictures but thought the book almost too easy to read. Snow is a Caldecott Honor book. Snow is readily available in libraries as both a book and a video.
