I reallyy enjoyed this! Felt like a great summer beach read. I don’t know that it’ll stick out to me in the future though. It was good, not great. Also I was (for some reason) really annoyed with “flash mob” being presented as a new and revolutionary idea. What year is it?

4.5 ⭐️ just a really feel good book tbh :’)

This had the set up to be the best cute summer love story, but for me it was a flop. I listened to it on audiobook and it was nice to have in the background while I was doing chores, but if I was physically reading it I might have DNF it. I loved the setting and the way it was set up, but I found the characters unlikable. I found myself continually frustrated with the main character and some of the side characters which made the book challenging to grab my attention since the book was more character driven than plot driven. Outside of not connecting with the characters, I really liked the writing style and the the way the book was set up. It kind of reminded me of The Summer I Turned Pretty. I have heard good things about the author's other books, so I might try those to see if I connect with the characters in those books a bit more.

3.5 I liked her first book much more

I loved everything about this. Very sweet and wholesome but when they finally got back together it was kind of unrealistic

rating this book 3 star for overall books but it’d probably go up to 4 if we’re talking only about romance beach reads. it was quick but maybe a little too quick that I didn’t fall in love with the characters. I enjoyed the booked and would likely read Annabel’s other books. cutie book overall :)))

Sam is pleased with her life. She and Jack are about to get married and are looking for the perfect venue, but when her parents suggest that the wedding should take place at The Old Sloop Inn in the beach town where she and her family spent their summers, she is filled with trepidation. This town is where a family crisis came between Sam and the love of her life, Wyatt. Sam doesn't think she can face the memories, especially since Wyatt is also coming back to town to support a local music festival.
Same Time Next Summer is a well written story that draws in the reader right from the first page. However, it is a bit difficult to follow chapters that not only change narrators but also jump from past to present and back again. Even though Wyatt's character narrates part of the story, his feelings don't really come across, leaving the impression of him being somewhat flat. In addition, Sam's characters makes lots of poor choices throughout the novel, making her seem much less likable. Also, there is a level of cheating that isn't really physical, but is definitely emotional and a distraction. Overall, Same Time Next Summer doesn't live up to its predecessor, Nora Goes Off Script but does provide a level of entertainment.

Do you know those books where you finish and have no feelings towards them at all? That was me with this book. I didn't love it, but I also didn't hate it. I feel very neutral about the whole thing. I mainly picked it up because it took place on Long Island, and I liked how I could picture everything while reading. I enjoyed getting the full scope of Sam and Wyatt's relationship with the dual timelines and POVs. While I didn't feel the connection between them, I was still interested in seeing how it would all work out. Second-chance romances are always hit-or-miss for me, and the pacing of this one felt a bit rushed. I wish there would've been more room for it to breathe. Even though it won't be a memorable read for me, I'd still recommend it if you're looking for a new beach read.
