Crown of Lies
Reviews

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. And another great read from Pepper Winters! It seems to me that anytime I read a book by Pepper Winters I have to take it in small chunks. No matter how much I want to speed read, or in this case listen, to her books I have to take it slow. I always know I’m in for a treat when reading her books. They're always a captivating read that leaves me on the edge of my seat every single time. And this book was no different. Noelle (Elle) and Penn are unlike any other main characters I’ve ever met before and they are not what I expected at all. From the very beginning of this book I thought it was going in one direction but it did a complete 360 not even halfway through the book and continued to surprise me every step of the way. I really don’t want to say too much more because I feel like I’ll give something away but I can’t wait to see where things go again in part two. I have my suspicions but I know Pepper Winters will surprise me until the very end. So far, it’s not as dark as I thought it was going to be, but it’s edgy and mysterious. I highly recommend reading this book, especially listening to it on audio, if you love Pepper Winter's writing. It’s intriguing, very well written and lyrical. The audio of this book made me appreciate it even more. I loved the job that Kylie Stewart and Eric Rolon did! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I voluntarily received an advanced review copy of this book and chose to review it. This book confused me. I found Penn in particular really hard to become attached to, I felt like he had no redeeming qualities, or anything to keep me interested in him. I also found the back and forth a little annoying. I know Elle is naive but the constant toing and froing did my head a little, I also found it hard to believe she could submit so easily. I'm intrigued with this story though, I want to see how it's all worked out, although I can probably guess. I get that this is supposed to be a dark, mysterious read, but I didn't get that, I just got muddled, sorry. Reviewed for 2rsblog.

If you're ever in a reading slump and you want to get out of it, read Pepper Winters. I love everything I've ever read by her! I can't say that Penn and Elle are my favorite characters that Pepper has come up with. But they're pretty close to the top now! I love Penn and hate him at the same time. I feel like he's playing mind games whilst trying to hide who he is really is from Elle. But who knows? He's obviously hiding something for a reason. I pity Elle. Poor girl can't go anywhere by herself without having something bad happen to her. She has the worst luck on the planet. Now, their relationship isn't really ideal. I feel like he tricked her into it. He knew she's had a bit to drink and he cornered her. I knew they'd end up together anyway, but he still went about it all wrong. I don't want to give anything else away about the book. It's full of surprises! This book leaves you on a cliffhanger, so make sure you have the second one on hand!!

So ein großartiges Buch 😍😭bin schon so gespannt wie es weiter geht
