4.5 β - (loved it, favorite)

This is a beautiful story about friendship, loss, hope and courage...definitely deserves to be called a classic.

As much as it broke my heart, I really loved it

This story was delightful. One star given to the characters. The characters in this movie were lovely, and I enjoyed most of them. I give one star to the plot. I loved the plot of this book and it was great!! I enjoyed the ups and downs of the story. I'm giving one star for the setting. This book captures London at the time the story takes place so well, and I felt like I was there. I give one star for the principal character, Sara. I know I already gave a star for the characters, but I think that Sara should get her own star on here. I give my last star for personal enjoyment. I had such a good time reading this book, and it was a fun experience.

That was the best! A friend gave it to me from my birthday and I loved it soo much! The story is amazing and Saraβs loves and perseverance is amazing and pure!

kunci bahagia dalam hidup adalah membaca buku mbah frances

My favourite book since childhood, read this in Year 5 and still love it to this very day. Foes get a bit sad in yhe middle but with a pleasant and satisfying end

This is not my first time reading this book and I doubt this will be the last either. This is the kind of book that I would enjoy to read to any children I may have one day. This is a book about kindness, hope, optimism and the importance of imagination. I can completely understand why this is a classic and whilst the colonialist attitudes are outdates and uncomfortable, this is a timeless story perfect for dark, winter nights.

** spoiler alert ** This was my first time reading this as an adult. The Little Princess was always one of my favorite stories as a child and maybe its because as a little girl its fanciful to believe anyone could be a "little princess" like Sara.... But as an adult, oh man, there is so much that is just wrong and probably was things from the time but WTF? Sara was an unknown drudge to "the Indian Gentleman" and yet he was like "Yep lets gift that girl random stuff." Yet here's Becky.... Being beat.... But Mr. Carrisford doesn't take pity on poor Becky... Nooooo. And when he finds out Sara is Mr. Crewe's daughter and takes her in, what does he do for Becky? Oh, she can be Sara's personal maid.... I think I might go rant for a while.

This is one of my all time favourite books !!! I have read it so many times.. I think I've lost count.....a definite recommendation ((^β½^)/β *ββͺ

Absolutely loved it. Such a delightful little story. Sara was one of the best protagonists I've ever read. She is so incredibly strong, and her positivity and the way she uses her imagination to cope with her hardships are absolutely inspiring.

** spoiler alert ** I read this book before. A few years ago. And just finished re reading it. Now . I am quite confused though I did see both Shirley's temples and the 1995 movie adaptations and if you also did. Captain crew is found Alive with amnesia and I Believe in Shirley's he is also . Now I can understand the 1995 one letting her father Iive but why didn't Shirley's ?? Follow the book ?

OMG I LOVE THIS BOOK! Fancis Hodgson Burnett won my little heart as a kid first with the amazing movie adaptation of this novel, then with her novel The Secret Garden. I adored the story and the found the voice incredibly engaging, much more so than most children classics. The movie made such a big mark on my heart that it helped me love stories before I could read, and long before I tried to write. Sara Crewe's heart and love and imagination was so inspiring that it has helped me over and over again, even when I didn't realize it as a kid and now as an adult. I knew I needed to read the book when I learned about it, but until recently hadn't picked it up. Finding this gorgeous edition I knew I had to have it and when I pulled it from my TBR jar I knew I had to read it. It was a little slow thanks to work and other books getting in the way, but I loved it in the first five pages. Somethings I prefer from the movie (like Becky not being white and where the princess fantasy came from) while others from the book are better. But I love them both and it's a must read for little girls, I think. I will treasure this story for the rest of my life!
