Their Fractured Light
Reviews

Amie Kaufman and her co-author buddies have single handily destroyed me.

Gah. SO freaking good.

4.25 Certainly my favorute of the series. Everything is wrapped up nicely, which I appreciate. I hated seeing (view spoiler)[Lilac be made a villain while Tarver has to stand by and lose her again. (hide spoiler)] I was really happy to get more Sofia because I liked the glimpse we got of her in the second book. And her relationship with Gideon may have been my favorite of all the couples we've encountered thus far. Never thought there would be a love interest that was cockier than Tarver, but somehow Gideon achieved it. People are predictable. It’s when you think they might not be—that’s when you get in trouble. The way they connected even the little details throughout the series, so that even (view spoiler)[Simon, Lilac's first love, was brought back into the mix. The closure she and Gideon got on this issue was satisfying (hide spoiler)] was a thing to behold. DOWN WITH LAROUX!!! I wished his comeupponce was more 'comeupponcey', but, c'est la vie.

So even though this was technically a reread, it's been quite a long while since I've been so passionate and absorbed into a book series and I just really needed that right now.I I also remember this'll being good, but like it's even better than that. RTC probably. I need time to think.

4.5 stars

This book was a perfect conclusion and especially in regards to the screen time all the characters got. i felt like every character got ending. I adored meeting the new characters and to see how all these characters were interconnected in the end. Such a strong ending.

3.5

This one may have been my favorite out of the series. I like the main character a lot more.... I think.

I did enjoy this book but having a break since reading the first two some stuff I just didn't remember. I did like that there was some closure with the whispers though. I enjoyed the relationship and their hacking and conning adventures. The book dipped a bit for me where there was a long time to get to actually doing things but overall the pacing was good and I was happy with the ending :)

Last book of 2015, aw. God, this book already started amazing, like, hello? Gideon is such a loveable character, and him and Sofia together make one hell of a team. Right away you get sucked into the plot. You're like, “Hey, I'm so excited for this conclusion.” But then you read the first ten pages and you're like, “What the hell?! What is already happening?!” Yeah, it's like that. When all six characters came together, it was heaven. Their dynamic together is badass. They just fit. All in all, I loved this series so so much. I'm not ready to let it go just yet. Update: It's been two hours since I finished reading it and I still think about it. Every second. I believe Lilac and Tarver's plus Sofia and Gideon's books were my favourite romances, though it's Jubilee and Flynn's that I like most, you know what i'm sayin? Like the thought of a rebel and a soldier intrigues me more, but the romance in the first and the last book was just sweeter. Update: Another hour or so has passed and I'm still thinking about this damn book and trilogy. So, I do not like what has happened to LaRoux. He deserves way more than what has happened to him. Like, seriously. Dude got away and I am not happy about it. Side note: I seriously highlighted so much in this novel, because there were so many beautiful parts in it. Also, I read it in a day. God, I'm so in love. Question: Does anyone else find it awkward reading about a couple you used to read in first POV from? 'Cause I kinda do. Even if I adore those couples.

This series is FANTASTIC. Loved seeing all three couples working together. The ending was perfect!! This book needs more hype.

4.5 for SURE. This was such a thrilling conclusion to an amazing series. I love how the authors tied in all 6 main characters! It flowed really well and made for an amazing team. It was a little slow at the beginning, but the end definitely made up for it. The writing was beautiful and I couldn’t have imagined a better ending. I will absolutely be reading more of these authors books!!

Okay, let me be very clear about this book. THIS BOOK DESTROYED ME. I literally became sucked in some hundred pages in and when I looked up again, the entire morning had passed and I'd read 200 pages. This book was beautiful. The third book in the Starbound trilogy not only brought back Lilac, Tarver, Jubilee, and Flynn, but included them as a major part of the story along with Sofia and Gideon. I liked these narrators more than Lee and Flynn, and the story was fast-paced and absolutely compelling. Part of me is sad the trilogy ends here, but part of me is relieved because let's face it, I could not emotionally handle anything else Kaufman and Spooner would think to put these characters through.

And with that this series is over... The ending felt a little rushed to me, like they suddenly were limited on page numbers and had to wrap things up. But, overall I enjoyed this novel. It was a decent conclusion to the series and managed to tie up many loose ends.

5 FUCKING STARS TO THIS BOOK. WOW. Like, the first 20% and the last 40% were just AH-MAZING. I can't even. Definitely my second favourite book out of the series. These Broken Stars will always be my fav, but this one comes so, so close. What wouldn't I give to read the entire book or well, snippets from it from Tarver's perspective. Gideon and Sofia are wonderful characters. I loved their character development and progression so much. I CAN'T THINK RIGHT NOW. MY THOUGHTS ARE AN INCOHERENT MESS FROM THIS BOOK. -Full trilogy review to come after I suitably compose my brain that's on fire from all the feels-. 5 Stars and an A and a B. Because I know, I'm gonna have a massive book-hangover now. The price to pay for great books.

Originally posted on my blog here -> https://kelmacsbooks.wordpress.com/20... What a brilliant ending to a wonderful trilogy! Following These Broken Stars and This Shattered World, Their Fractured Light is the third and last book in the Starbound trilogy, and has wrapped the whole series up in a neat little bow that has left me feeling extremely content (even though ending such a wonderful series is bitter sweet). This novel is centred around two new characters; Sofia Quinn and Gideon Marchant. Sofia is a quick witted girl with the ability to read people with astonishing accuracy, and to manipulate her way out of any situation, while Gideon is a sarcastic and extremely intelligent computer hacker (who is an absolute cutie pie and I love him). The first half of the novel sees these two characters meet and it was extremely enticing to see how these two characters, one who lies as a living and one who hides behind a pseudonym alone in his den, interact with each other and learn to work with each other. Just like in the previous two novels, it was beautiful to read how these two closed off and isolated characters worked through their own personal problems, becamae vulnerable to each other and learnt to love each other completely. The vulnerability shown by both Sofia and Gideon throughout the novel shows just how much the characters develop and learn to trust others even though they find it so difficult. Of course, it doesn’t just happen. There is betrayal and intensity and lies. So many lies. But they just make the story so interesting! On the other hand, I am a sucker for romance, and even though their lies and deceit were parts of who they were, I yearned for more cute scenes between them… Half way through the novel introduces Lilac, Tarver, Jubilee and Flynn into Sofia and Gideon’s story and I was blown away with the complexity of this story. The way Kaufman and Spooner have woven in the stories from the previous two novels was intricate and beautifully executed. Although I felt at times, Sofia and Gideon took the backseat in their own novel, they quickly again became the centre of attention as the plot continued to weave together. Throughout this thrilling novel, other characters were also re-introduced that were mentioned in the previous two that I definitely forgot, but it was wonderful to have those side characters back into the story. And the way that everything fit together so perfectly just shows how much time and effort that must have gone into plotting all three of these stories. So basically, Amie and Meagan have created a beautiful, intricate and thrilling trilogy with wonderfully unique and intriguing characters and a plot line that keeps you guessing, and that keeps shocking you basically until the very last page. I am loving YA novels with balanced parts of supernatural and romance but can keep an exciting and interesting plot at the same time. An all round fabulous series and it is safe to say that is has become one of my favourites. Do yourself a favour and read this trilogy, please!

Ahhhhh! I loved thi shit!

4.0 This was a very sweet, if not a somewhat predictable end to the Starbound trilogy. That said, I still enjoyed it nonetheless! Gideon and Sophia’s interaction with each other is great and felt REAL and not forced. Sophia is by far my favorite female character in the series. We get the feeling that she is always working some angle and is always certain of the next step - except when she isn’t and that’s where Gideon comes in. They shake up everything the other thought they knew about themselves and have to learn to trust each other in order to take down LaRoux and the whispers. I really loved Gideon’s character as well. He is sarcastic, funny and even a bit arrogant but is still love-able, with a bit of that mysterious “bad boy” vibe. Of course, one of the biggest parts of this series is that all of the players in the game finally come together. Their connections to each other are fully revealed including some bits of information on how and why they are all here together. I did feel like Jubilee and Flynn did not have a very big part in this installment and were only sort of “present” half the time. On the other hand - Tarver. Oh, Tarver. He is my favorite character in the series and I really loved what we got of him in the second half. His struggle with the situation was heartbreaking and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t Team Tarver during the final portion of the book! Overall, I liked the way this series closed up and hope the galaxy sees the future they are aiming for!
